He's about 15% less funny than he thinks he is, which isn't bad, in Billy Connolly terms.
Have always found his stand up/solo material crap and derivative (he was awful on the 11 oclock show) and his delivery is poor.
But the office was brilliantly written and performed. Extras less so.
Thought the first half of the second episode was very good: MEGAVIDEO - I'm watching it
I saw his Science gig last night, I thought he was very funny. Bugger all to do with Science, even less than his previous stand-ups have to do with the title, but funny nevertheless.

Seen him in Dublin last week. A little slow in parts but he hit his stride with the Noah's ark stuff.

His stand up isn't great imo. Office... brilliant. Extras... very good, especially the specials. XFM shows and some of the podcasts... hilarious. I wouldn't pay to watch his stand up though.
The last series of the podcasts came out the other day. Very good, especially since I didn't pay for them.
Have to agree with you there, but I think this was mainly down to the stupidity of Karl "head like an orange" Pilkington. XFM, Ricky Gervais show and Guide to ...... podcasts, all very, very good.
As soon as the book showed up on the big screen I knew it'd be funny. Any adaptation he does that includes God is amazing, in my opinion.
He was the only thing that saved the Emmys. Got the biggest laughs.
