Rhys Bennett | on loan to Stockport

Another goal yesterday as Fleetwood beat Walsall away 6-2. Ex-United Mark Helm scored the last goal of the game.

He’s started seven and subbed on in two in the last nine games for Fleetwood Town. Good to see him playing consistently.

Even if he played for 90 minutes (which he usually does) is not important if his team dominated for 90 minutes and there was no action in front of his goal. And sometimes 20 minutes (which he plays when not fit) is very important. Anyway, that stats are not important as that is team stats.

What is important is that in the second senior season he is regular in mid table League Two club, after bad loan to Stockport last year. Only on defender in the club has more minutes on the pitch. That is probably more than enough for 21 years old coming from injury in his first season. Valuable experience and probably good chance to earn transfer to League One club in the summer to continue development. Obviously he will not be United player, but he has a chance to be solid, maybe even CH player in a few years.

I watched him live against Bromley the other week, was very solid. Only tiny mistake he made was for the Bromley goal but like 95% of the fault was on his CB partner.
