Reserves vs Newcastle

Will Keane is going to be a top player. Wonder if it'll be at United though with the strikers we currently have.

First goal was all about determination. Petrucci's flick wasn't really near him, but he chased the ball anyway, got ahead of the defender and slotted it past the keeper very nicely. Second he got the ball again and just hammered it into the top corner. Two very good goals from him.

Why not - Welbeck and Hernandez are nowhere near the finished articles. He has every chance of making it.

How's Will Keane like as a striker? Is he a Welbeck type of player or simply a poacher like Hernandez?

He's obviously not at the same level, but he reminds me more of RVN. He's not an out and out poacher (Chica) or build-up pretty flicks and what not (Welbeck). He's a leading the line striker, that is decent in the air but most importantly a deadly finisher.

Think he'll need a season's loan next year, but if it's a championship team they'll be mighty lucky to have him.

Will Keane is turning into a very complete striker his strength and pace have developed a lot this season to go along with his excellent technique

He has some Berba skills actually, but think of sheringham with a bit more pace when he wants to be quick.

Don't quite see the Sheringham-connection myself. Sheringham was smart - good at findind spaces and a decent goalscorer - but he was slow and not that brilliant on the ball.

Keane is a lot quicker than he looks - and he is brilliant with the ball

Sheringham was slow alright but what do you mean "not that brilliant on the ball"? Compared to who?

Cheers lads, sounds promising is Will Keane. I remember his little cameo against Newcastle at OT, didn't looked over-rawed and displayed a nice few touches in the attacking third. Maybe we'll see him in the Carling Cup next season

He reminds me of a mix of Sheringham and Solskjaer...and Eidur Gudjohnsen for some reason.

Always hard to label a young player, but at the moment he's probably a bit of a mix of the two you mention. His link-up play is quite good and he drops deep from time to time, but stays further up the pitch than Welbeck does most of the time.

Well, I personally think Welbeck has more potential. All three strikers are still getting better as you say, so I just find it hard to see Keane pushing either Welbeck or Hernandez out to be honest, but you never really know with football.

Jesus, I go downstairs for some food, and United score two.

I'll head down again later, so we can win 4-3.

Good goal.
Nice work by De Laet, maybe his place in attacking and not defending. Very intelligent ball across, thought he was going to shoot

Keane hat-trick, 3-3, set up by De Laet!

De Laet up front is paying dividends.

I like how in Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck and Keane we'd have 4 different styles. Actually quite close to Cole, Yorke, Sheringham and Solskjaer.

Which is good for nothing other than being moderately cute.

Keane hat trick!

Will Keane should go on loan next season. Stunning talent.

Sod Billy The Kid being the new Teddy, De Laet's clearly the new Romario.
