Reserves vs Hull

Why the hell did you bother to come into this thread if you were only going to be negative? You were responding directly to his show of annoyance when Tosic snatched at an effort when he had far more time then he realised, not exactly a crime.

He did that exactly four times, two times with Stewart and the third I think it was Hewson.

I think people are allowed to comment when a player shows a bad attitude on four different instances and ends up booked for a reckless challenge, but obviously I was wrong as Norwood hit two free-kicks with Northern Ireland U21 and gave the ball to Tosic 50 minutes later.

Displaying frustration hardly merits a bad attitude and he had some good moments first half playing out of position. To write him off the first time you've probably ever seen him play is rather stupid, even by your high standards.

Nani Nana, to be fair, I've seen Norwood play quite a few times for NI u-21's and the lad is going to be a very special player. United have a very very good player on their books with him. So, hes displaying a little frustration tonight with his team-mates, he wouldn't be the first United player to do that in his time, Keane, Cantona, Ronaldo etc etc, the list goes on

He certainly has a special free kick technique.

If your comment had been "Norwood's not had a great half and now he's getting frustrated" then you would indeed be allowed to comment.

Instead you just spouted off pointless shite about him being "globally useless" based on less than 45minutes of reserve football, and ended up sounding like a bit of a twat

pretty obvious you're not familiar with the lad if you think he has a bad attitude. Its ok not to know about every player in europe you know.

To judge him and his performance tonight like you have above is quite frankly very childish and one dimensional considering your previous misgivings about the player

How old is that Will Keane? I wasn't aware he was playing with reserves yet, isn't this is first season with the academy side?

He's only 16, but we are struggling for strikers in the reserves what with Kiko, Welbeck and to an extent King being injured, in the first team squad or away with their national teams at junior levels and therefore regularly unavailable, hence us playing for an hour with no recognised striker tonight. He's also starting to really impress at academy level - you may have seen/heard that he has scored 7 goals in his last 4 games, proving that he is now there on merit. It also helps that he is a pretty big lad and while he isn't exactly built like a tank, his body is already strong enough to cope with the step up.

What the hell does that have to do with his first half ?

You said he is globally useless, not that he has been globally useless in the first half (which would've been a contender for contradiction of the year btw).

I'm sure it's because Nani Nana was lost in translation, actually... I don't know if he meant to say that.

Fair enough. My impression of him is that he's usually a decent poster but apart from what goes on in this forum I don't really pay too much attention.

Tosic has seriously impressive dribbling. Very good to see how positive he is lately, this guy has to get a chance for the first team sooner than later.

Yes. Not much to add. Two great goals.

I'm really suprised we don't see Tosic with the first team, he seems to do well enough for the reserves and has done well in his cameos. It's not like any of our wingers have been sensational either.

Exactly. I don't see Tosic doing less than what Nani and Park have done these last years.. Unpopular as that may be.

I do, in a defensive sense and in terms of overall importance to the squad Park is vastly superior. That being said Tosic will have his chance shortly and its up to him to make an impression.

There are no 'wingers' that can do the defensive work that Park does, that said surely a winger should be judged on his attacking contributions? In that respect I don't think Tosic would do less.

It was still a stupid comment and unnecessary.

He can hardly be blamed if there's something lost in his translation and some of the sense he was trying to convey got lost.

Though I'd be hard pressed to make up such an excuse, let alone think of some equivalent situation in any languages I'm familiar with.

I second the statement by the gentleman who was encouraged by the fact that we've more competition for dead balls at reserve level. Tosic, Norwood, Eikrem. More hopeful of the two latter ones, with time on their side but then again Tosic has some growing to do (as a footballer) and may well surprise us.

I think all 3 have the potential, though clearly all 3 have a long way to go. But I also agree that it's great to see real competition for free-kicks, something we've sadly lacked in the first team for a while now.
