It seems an absolute age since we last saw Ole's team in action, they kick off tonight away to Hull at 7pm (GMT), MUTV's coverage starts at 6.30pm (GMT).

Hopefully we can bounce back well after defeats against Liverpool in the Lancashire Senior Cup and City in the Reserve League North.

Team selection will be interesting, the starting line-up will probably give a big hint about SAF's intentions for tomorrow night.

Yep, I'm hoping to see something of Macheda, Welbeck, Obertan and/or King tomorrow night. Would have liked to see Tosic and Petrucci too, but one's ineligible and the other is clearly not ready having only recently returned from injury.

Reserves name young squad

Zoran Tosic is the senior member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Warren Joyce's squad for the Barclays Premier Reserve League North trip to Hull City tonight.

Second-placed United are attempting to keep the pressure up on league leaders Liverpool, who currently have a five-point lead - although the Reds have a game in hand.

For those who follow United's Under-18s, Will Keane's inclusion in the squad is noticeable as the Stockport-born striker is in excellent form at youth level.

The 16-year-old, who has featured previously for the second string, has scored seven goals in his last four games for the U18s and, as the only recognised out-and-out striker in the squad, could be in line for a run-out.

Kick-off at Church Road is at 19:00 GMT. Watch the game live on MUTV, coverage starts at 18:30 GMT. Or return to ManUtd.com after final whistle for a full report.

United team from: Zieler (GK), Tunnicliffe, Gill, Wootton, De Laet, James, Stewart, Hewson, Norwood, Eikrem, Tosic, Ajose, Devlin (GK), W.Keane.

No Welbeck, Macheda, King or Dudgeon. One or two maybe injured or likely to feature at some point tomorrow, it's no surprise Obertan is not included.

I think Dudgeon is injured - went off for N.I u21s.

But no Corry Evans - could he get a chance tomorrow night with our current defensive injuries?

I'm surprised Da Laet is there, with all the injuries at the back (Rio, Fabio, Evans, O'Shea, Neville haven't trained today). I guess a couple will be back tomorrow.

Is De Laet in our C.L squad? I would have thought being foreign might have stopped him being included with the homegrown rules.

Shame though!

With Fabio missing I'd have liked to see De Laet getting a run out tomorrow night.

De Laet would have definitely made a sub appearance at the very least, there's the case of the Carling Cup tie next week so he's eligible for that.

Possibly but Fergie rarely puts too much youth and inexperience at the back.

Not saying he'll start but haven't heard of him being injured.

So given the injuries to defenders I don't see why he's not involved here unless he's in consideration for some involvement tomorrow night.

I thought Evans came off injured for NI as well? I could have sworn I saw somewhere that they used all 3 subs for injuries and that both Dudgeon and Evans had come off.

No, Evans played the full 90 minutes in both matches.

Getting back to who is here as opposed to who isn't.

It will be interesting to see how this young squad get on tonight, particularly Tunnicliffe and Keane.

Also hoping for a big performance from Tosic as the senior player in the squad. He's been here almost a year now and with the Carling Cup next week it would be nice to really see him push on and challenge for the left-wing spot.

Joshua King must be injured, he is not eligible for the CL.

I think you are wrong there, I think players born after January 1th 1991 can be used. I might be wrong! I hope you are wrong...

I'm not realy sure why I thought this, just thought I've read it somewere...

I hope I'm wrong too but there's a post in the matchday thread for the game tomorrow outlining the clauses in which case you can register youth players 24 hours before kick off (or something to that effect). King fails due to him being registered with United for less than 2 years.

Unless there's another clause we are missing.

That might be the clause I was thinking about.
Let's see tomorrow...
I just hope that King isn't injured again, he's had his share of injuries I think!

Cullen is the one to look out for apparently, scored heavily for the youth side.

Well - it's a lot weaker siden than last year when they had Duke in goal and at least Windass and Stelios in addition

Cullen has already scored 19 for the Academy apparently this season.

Stewart misses an early chance running through after a great volleyed through ball from Eikrem. He was going wide and blazed it over. Lively start.

It should of course be added that Hull academy so far has played teams like : Darlington, Grimsby, Burton Albion, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Lincoln, Mansfield, Bradford, Scunthorpe etc

Which makes his feat slightly less impressive :)
