Reserves vs. Chelsea (A)

It does depend on the definition of success. At Academy and Reserve level the team is less important - it's all boils down to finding a few individuals (if lucky) who might progress to the first team. I'd trade all the reserve and youth trophies for a guarantee of producing one first teamer every year.

That's not to say that City and Chelsea are more successful in that respect either. In fact they've been conspicuously unsuccessful. Just making the point that success at lower levels does us no good unless we can unearth those few key stars.

Yep your right that results at academy and reserve level mean nothing if you cant produce for the first team. Developing individuals is priority but I was just excited by the fact the players we are developing are home grown local talents as oppose to having the majority of our players brought in from all over the world.

In yesterday's game there was a noticeable difference in commitment, work ethic and desire between the two teams which was quite surprising considering the cost of some of the Chelsea players on display but ultimately if their group can produce one, two or more players for their first team they will be happy.

Anyone know why Feruz was not playing for Chelsea seem as he was the star in their 4 - 0 first leg youth final win over Blackburn with 2 goals?
