Reserves v Hull

God damnit I totally forgot about this and went to the library.

Thanks for the near minute-by-minute guys.

Possebon's been really quiet this half.

Hull look down and beaten, gone back to defending deep. Very little movement off-the-ball from either side now.

Ben Foster does a really bad clearance which Hull shoot from but to no avail.

Moffatt off, Wootton on.
Norwood off, Pogba on.

Obertan waltzes through the middle and feeds Will Keane whose shot is deflected off the defender. Not that Dudgeon (?) cares as from the corner of the penalty area he scores an outstanding volley, better than Evans's, right-footed.

(I have no speakers, so I'm not listening to the commentary.)

Meanwhile in Liverpool (I can get the feed), Kuyt has scored a seemingly offside header. The linesman flags, the referee agrees...until Torres protests. The referee gives the goal instead...

what am i watching...

Gritty work wins Hull a corner, a rare opportunity to test our defence.

Instead they play it short and lose it. Obertan steams down the left and feeds Pogba, who can't quite get it under control.

2-0 Mucus Leiva scores, I suppose they're home and dry now.

De Laet is another seriously quick bugger, charging back giving the winger a headstart. The winger puts De Laet into a headlock and there's handbags as the winger tries to fondle De Laet and De Laet returns by chucking the ball at him. From the free-kick the ball falls to a Hull player just inside the box and he cracks one onto the bar and over.

Deceptively quick. He's not got fast legs but he has Adebayor legs so it just takes him those extra few centimetres with every step.
Foster does a quick throw and Brandy is away, except that Hull pull a block tackle on him, not sure what all the hand-waving by the referee was for.

FT: Manchester United Reserves 6-1 Hull City Reserves

Dominant performance, maybe we could have scored a couple more even. Two stunning crackers from Evans and Dudgeon well worth watching again.

Obertan was too good for Hull, Brandy also good on the flank and up front with his pace too much. Stewart had a good game with his pace too. Possebon was good in the first half but never really got into the second half. De Laet was impressive too.

Amazing goals by Evans and Dudgeon there.

I thought Evans was probably the best player first half, 2nd half was pretty much going through the motions with a couple of superb goals to keep it interesting.
Always wanted the ball, cracking work rate and a good goal, surprised he wasn't in the box for headers though, he never struck me as someone with a wicked shot so suited to be outside the box.

Would be great to see Obertan get the confidence now to score regularly. From those who have been watching him regularly what is the opinion after 1 season?

He's very gifted, great quick feet and pace but very inconsistent in a game. He also needs to simplify his game in certain instances. Still very much a work in progress.
