Rafael looked better defensively than previously I thought. Didn't watch the whole match though so I may have been mistaken. Also our midfield did very well in the 2nd half. They couldn't get the ball off us.
Just saw the goals there, cleverelys strike was super.
A brilliant team performance there, playing the Man Utd brand of football tonight - composure and slick passing/movement. Federico Macheda had a great game, scored the first and had a hand in the other two.
I thought Rafael and Eckersley were both excellent. It was a good first win for us. I would love to know what people think of Oliver Gill?
He has been very poor in his appearances for the academy, I thought last night was easily his best game of the season and that for the reserves --- go figure that one.
Not so strange as he's mainly been forced to fill in at LB for the academy hasn't he? He's clearly far more suited to central defence.
He played left-back against Bolton as well though.

Oh I didn't realise. I assumed Eckersley was at LB. I wasn't really paying attention through most of the game.
Indeed. Kiko up top was thoroughly impressive. & the midfield three were excellent. Meanwhile Rafael just looks better and better with every game.
I'm of the opinion that although David Gill is awesome, he's probably the only reason Oliver Gill's still in our Academy...
