Reserves: United vs. Bury [Manchester Senior Cup]

We seem to be playing against nothing but our rivals' former kids - City and Leeds youngsters all over according to the commentary.
 
According to Mr. Mujac on twitter, Tunnicliffe was our MoTM.
 
Nice with a win, a shame that I missed the game. Any info would be great!

He set up two goals and worked hard. Typically, some of his play looked scrappy, but his second assist was from a nice piece of footwork on the edge of the box to roll through Lingard, who had a good second half.

I thought Macheda looked good in spells and King was probably my MoTM. Kings allround play was very good and he carried the ball the length of the pitch twice, one of which Petrucci should have scored from. His pace caused them real problems. Annoyingly, it was Kings finishing that let him down as he could have had more. Still a good performance from him and hopefully he'll have pushed himself into contention for the League Cup next week.

Interesting that Buttner, Bebe and Powell weren't involed at all.
 
Our loan policy has baffled me this season. Surely we could've easily found Championship clubs for Lingard, Cole, Tunnicliffe, Petrucci etc. Brady, I think could go for a low-level PL club.

The only possible explanation I have is that they'll all be involved in our League and early FA Cup games. If we're out of those competitions by that time January arrives then they'll be sent on loan.

I really want to see Januzaj in action again. Where the hell is he?

Hope so.

Regarding Januzaj, I think he's injured. No other reason why he's missing from the U-18 match aswell. Our OS is shit when it comes to youth and reserves things. The lazy cnuts didn't manage to upload the news regarding Petrucci and Cole's new 3 year contracts.
 
Just got back from the game, doubt United will play an easier u21 match all season. They were streets ahead in every area of the pitch. All the United players played well but at the same time all of them had a couple more gears to go through which weren't needed. If the finishing wasn't so poor they would of ended up with 7 or 8 tonight easily. King worked hard and was probably motm although he should of scored a few goals tonight.

Obviously the coaching staff know best but its so strange that Macheda, Brady, Wooton and King are still playing in the reserves. They all need a to be play regularly somewhere imo. When these lads go out players like Lawrence, Henriquez, Mculloch, Charni, Januzaj can step into the reserves and take their place. At the moment these five are nowhere to be seen. All are good prospects as well. Then there is the current u18s who will need reserve experience at some point this season also. I hope the situation becomes clearer soon.

As for Lingard, Cole, Tunnicliffe and Petrucci, well I think that with these four its about being very careful to find the right club. Maybe training with the first team is better for them at the moment. There is no point sending them to a championship club where they aren't physically prepared and would have to adapt their technical styles of play to fit in with the more direct style of the English lower leagues. Tunnicliffe for example regressed at Peterborough last year imo.
 
Poor Macheda. He's not a world beater, but he's definitely deserving of first team action in Europe somewhere.
 
I think the loan window for football league clubs only opened again last week, which explains some of the delay. I guess because of that and the COC game next week, some of them are being held back from loans.
