How was Tosic?except that he hit the bar 3 times,How was he over all?

Good enough for first team chances?Why is he not even in the United squad?

Yeah, the key thing for me was that he looked a lot more confident in his ability. That's probably born out of being with the club for a bit longer now, he's at the age where he's young enough that he's got a lot to prove and learn but he's also old enough that he realises the pressure on him at a club like United. In his first few games he was very eager to pass the ball instantly (usually back) but tonight he was running at defenders, showed a few nice touches and a bit of skill too as well as some pace. Very unlucky not to score, also had a good volley across goal.
 
Thought Tosic played very well tonight. He's got a good first touch and looks very comfortable with the ball.

He was as good if not slightly better against Liverpool in my opinion but you're spot on about the fact he's looking a bit stronger. Encouraging stuff.

The whole team was terrific at times tonight. The first 30 mins were awesome, with Caf anti-hero Oliver Gill showing off a quite impressive Paolo Maldini impersonation.

At the end of the day there were too many solid performances to mention but I though Eikrem was the best of a good bunch.

The Henry comparisons are not unjustified. He was good tonight. On second watching I thought he was even better. Tosic looks stronger. Possebon still looks like he's been smoking dope, was it Pogue who said he'd go perfectly in Serie A? De Laet is fuqing quick and when he matures could be a top player for United. Gill looked better than usual. Martin was just as industrious and skilled as ever.

if he hadn't been loaned out, I reckon he would have got a chance in the CC.

I really hope he does stay around and get a chance next season, but he is out of contract, afaik, in the summer, so things aren't looking great for him on that front at the moment. If he wants to stay, i reckon he should be given a contract, because for me he has been the most impressive player for the reserves since his return from loan, he has been consistently excellent in terms of attitude and application for a good few months now, and he deserves a chance in my opinion.
 
great first half, Tosic was very good the guy certainly knows how to cross...i was also impressed with Gill, i thought he was very solid at LB.

Tosic I think has really good potential. He's got very good close control, has a good weight of pass and while he should have scored he showed good composure for the second effort to come inside to improve the angle.

I hope he stays. We will have space for him on the wing next season. In the overall first team squad.
 
We will? Who's leaving then - we've got Ronaldo, Nani, Park, Tosic, Ljajic coming in January...

Martin should move on for his own sake, and I suspect he will. He's 22, he needs to step out of the comfort zone of being a United player and follow Eagles' example.
 
Tosic - Set piece specialist?

If he is one then why isn't he taking them over #7. Magnus Eikrem for the 2nd goal? I know it was probably better suited for a right footer.. But if he is a so called specialist he should be taking all of them surely?

He had one free kick, which to me it looked like he scuffed and it went underneath the wall and wide of the goal. The commentators speculated that it might have been "Ronaldinho-esque" but it just looked like a poor free kick to be honest, I haven't really seen this set-piece specialist stuff yet even from corners but he's certainly capable of it as we saw from the free kicks he scored for Partizan. Hopefully it's just a matter of time.
 
Eikrem is a set piece specialist in his own right. No pun intended.

Eikrem is a brilliant at free kicks IMO...watch his goal against Boro...

I saw it.. But that is not my point.. I was speculating as to whether he actually is a specialist..
