Replacing Sanchez with Ousmane Dembele

I agree with why not both. I watched Sanchez for Chile during the international break and while I’m not going to go over the top, he certainly looked way better than he has for us and much better than what Lukaku has done. Still think he’s a good player that’s worth keeping around. I’ve never been in favour of selling good players and keeping decent at best try-hards, then wondering why we’re struggling for top 4 and expect us to spend 500 million and being in 8 new players every window.

Why would psg want Sanchez - neymar and Mbappe are undroppable, are they selling cavani?
Why would Barca sell dembele and furthermore....why on earth would dembele want to leave his dream club who are about to win la liga to come to old trafford? We haven't won the league or champs league in years and that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon.

It's almost like all of this is a load of bs as we get closer to the winter market and papers have to sell and sites have to get clicks.

Dembele's playing a lot more this season. Probably won't want to leave. Almost certainly wouldn't want to come here at present.

I read something about Dembele having a gaming addiction (videogames), and he was missing some training sessions due to lack of sleep because of this.

He has been called out for discipline issues, I still prefer Alexis who is a hard worker rather than a lazy player like Dembele, I still think Alexis can turn it around.

We need someone with Zlatan's attitude, not Di Maria's. I don't know much about him but what people are saying on here puts him closer to the latter which would be worrying. We desperately need quality and a right side though.

Lol... prefer Sanchez in what way? The guy hasn't put a good 90 min performance for us... and he's been earning 500k... Not sure how his so called hard work has been beneficial to us... People need to understand that Sanchez was brought in to score goals and create and he's not doing either of those things.

Sounds like Dembele has issues with professionalism. Mourinho doesn't get on with players who won't throw themselves in front of a bus for him. He's not going to sign someone who shows up late to training and takes suspicious sick days.

Apparently Dembele is late to training a lot because he pulls all nighters with his mates playing video games. I don't think it's that big of an issue, he'll grow out of it.

At least Sanchez doesn't skip training because of an all night gaming session, would rather keep it that way.

Hopefully it's something Pogba and Martial could help with if he came to united

I wonder which games Dembele has been playing?

If we can get anything from Alexis I think we should. Even if the fee is low, getting rid of his wage bill is just as good.

You’ve seen reports about his shitty attitude, right? Why would we want that?

I can't see why PSG would want Sanchez. They have Neymar, Mbappe, Draxler, Di Maria, Cavani, and Choupu-Moting. He would be a very expensive (salary) rotation player.

It can only happen if Real go all out to get one of Neymar or Mbappe, which doesn't seem very likely either.

I think it is very likely that Real Madrid will get either Neymar or Mbappe. PSG will need to balance their books and Real are desparate to sign a "big name" player to make their fan base happy and get them excited again. They desparately need to replace Ronaldo and one of those two players will be courted sooner rather than later...

And?
Its an investment not a cost. Do you think he will be worth less in three years?
If we could get our hands on anyone of Mbappe, Sancho or Dembele; the transfer fee in itself is unimportant. I guarantee you that the club would invest that amount for any of those players. Or even all of them. Its not a cost to buy a young talented player. The small risk if is the transfer market nosedives. Otherwise the transfer fee in itself is the smallest of problems.
The relevant problems are that we will not attract any of those players because of other issues like we look like missing out on CL, we play boring football and look way off any trophy anytime soon. And there is the manager issue as well.

The problem I would have with that, is why do we want to sign a player for 100m now when we could have had that player for cheap a couple of years ago. Instead of signing Sancho for 100m, how about our scouts earn their money and find "the next" Sancho. Not to mention the fact that if Sancho did come for that kind of money and he didn't start producing results right away, our supporters will turn on him quickly. We don't have the best track record when it comes to "big money singnings"...

I hear what you are saying and agree with it, But our scouts might be under performing and right now, aren't particularly good at identifying top talent before they become big.

I think our supporters are just as bad. Had we signed Maguire from Hull, most people probably would have questioned the signing. Move ahead a year and after a good world cup and most people want him but for 3-4 times what Leicester paid for him. There are talented players on lower teams in the EPL. Those are the players we should be going after. Good young talent who can make their name at United. This is why I'm still pissed that we sold Zaha. He was the kind of signing that I like. A young, English, EPL player who came in for cheap and could have been owning our right wing right now...

Why do people kill time on threads like these. Sure I would understand if it was a bit realistic like Alder or someone but this is just insanity.

That would be a fantastic exchange but no chance of it happening

1. Dembele as footballer has potential to be best on the planet imo.
2. His character will screw everything up. Leaving Dortmund by force/leaving his Villa messed up. Problems now in Barcelona with his attitude (also see Deschamps comment). Always winey after fouls.
Don't see him getting along with honest hard-working football (not yet).

IMO Dembele's a huge talent but he's too damn fiesty man!

Let's face it, we've already got; Pogba at war with those appointed by his club to manage him, him wanting to join city / now wanting to join Juve. Sanchez wanting out but being paid too much by us to ever get a gig elsewhere - especially given him being next to useless in our jersey. We've got DDG resisting a new contract because he wants to join a club where he stands a chance of winning honours . . etc. etc.

So why add another ridiculously expensive problem into the mix?
All due respect to all opinions on the go but what I think we need are heads-down, hard-working, humble, honest professionals who choose to play for us because they want to wear the shirt (not because we pay them stupid to get them) and Dembele doesn't fit that description.

With the kind of Manager we have and the kind of shitty style of football we play and the fact we haven't challenged for the league for 6 years, I can imagine the players we are going to attract.... Second of all, gone are the days of heads down, hard-working, humble and honest professionals who choose to play for us.... I don't see these kind of players actually being World Class and helping us go back to our glory days.

Sign him up but take his PS4 away

There's no need to sell Sanchez, just start playing quick attacking football in a system where he gets bear boxes he will be fine.

Sanchez is not part of the problem, Mourinho's style of football is.
