Hat trick woohoo :D

So, Anna Karenina and....Brothers Karamazov the highest non-series finishers?

What I'm guessing based on what I remember of the voting thread...

Noooo...

*Insert Michael Scott/ Toby gif*

Women Countdown thread is up for voting on the next 2 countdowns, read the OP, think there's a good range of options.

Counting votes for countdown now.

I read far too much easy reading stuff like crime fiction to relax to and yet I'd still have nominated a fair few of what I've seen. But Harry Potter? Even Rowling would be blushing if she saw this.

I'm tired, and thought number 13 was Romeo and Juliet by William Shatner; sadly, I was mistaken.

Enough to know that Syphillis wasn't the founder of Zoroastrianism, chiefo.

Its this...for the first time tonight...honest.

Pretty sure Organic Potatoes has voted for every entry so far...

Also, I didn't vote for Ulysses. I'm sure it's great and all, but I haven't read it.

What a shit list. Harry Potter no.1?!?!!? Jesus... and how can more than one book win? And no. 3 & 4 are terrible choices as well. Feck me, what is the world coming to?!

I take it that you are not a big fan of the fantasy genre?

I'm not saying they're bad books, the HP series are wonderful children books. But the no.1 literary works? Give over... And how come all the books have been added up?

I'm not saying HP is the best book ever, as seen by my post here.
I'm not really someone who has enough exposure to literature to comment on which other book should have been at 1. Was just wondering given you didn't like HP, LOTR or ASOIAF that you didn't really were a fan of the genre.

I tried a few HP to see what the hype was about & read LOTR as a kid. I'm not impartial towards a fantasy story and was addicted to the Fighting Fanatsy series as a kid. But as a literary work I would not rate HP in the top 20 books I've read, not by a long shot. You could argue about LOTR, but surely even a top 10 for LOTR is way too much.
