RedCafe's top 50 footballers of all-time

Surprised Gerd Muller hasn't been included in many of these lists.

Publish and be damned.

Not yet. I don't feel like I have enough submissions. I've got little over 60 or so people nominated and some very lucky to be there down to one or two lists. I want to hang on but need a way of grabbing attention for that last flurry of lists.

Me too. Without revealing anything he's hardly been in any. Same with some other greats such as Yashin, Eusebio etc.

They would've been had posters focussed on all-time rather than solely those they'd seen - might be worth retitling the final list on that basis.

Probably, although there still have been a number of lists as well which did contain older players too.

PM's cleared. For anyone trying to send them through PM, you can go again.

Could still do with more lists to be honest.

Cheesy, don't want to knock your endeavours but it increasingly looks like a monumental waste of time. Maybe a Top 20 would result in more candidates AND more defenders, etc. The have seen/haven't seen dilemma is a tough one though.

Maybe run "All-Time" and "Have seen" separately (each poster marking which they feel comfortable with) and then find some adjustment factor based on the relative positioning/scores of players who make both lists?

Yeah, I'm starting to get that impression. Would I be better just scrapping this one do you think and running the two separate ones?

I don't think people will be much pleased

Diablo has a good point. Maybe just go for the Top 20 or 25, whatever looks reasonably robust.

A harmless bit of fun the the interlull. Do the top 20 or whatever makes sense.

Indeed, much better to be done with collecting opinions, count, post the outcome and feed us something to argue endlessly about until the actual football comes back.

We are like trained monkeys in here

Well, my top 10 is comprised of footballers I've only seen in the flesh, because you can't really judge players on Youtube clips etc.

1. Me
2. Jamie C
3. Naheem
4. Dave
5. Graeme
6. Rosey
7. Holty
8. Mr. Grogan (PE Teacher)
9. "Gay" Ian
10. Imran Patel

EDIT - Forgot about Afzal.

I'm going to just post a final 25. Will get onto it soon.
