Redcafe's Official 2007 Cricket World Cup Fantasy League

This fantasy world cup website is sh*t!!

Most people have Ponting on double points and scored 74 (doubled from 37).

Eatmysix has Ponting on single points and he's got him 76 points!! :wenger:

Umar Gul got two wickets and he's only scored me 3 points when it should be 10 minimum.

Good try Mehro and Justin, but looks like this competition was a wasted effort.

Maybe Eatmysix made a change? The points get carried forward if you make a substitution. Drop them a quick email and they'll update your points hopefully. I haven't really bothered enough to read the rules.

I've told them now through their feedback mechanism. This is the first game, no one could have transferred points scored earlier as there wasn't an 'earlier'. Isn't it on rounds basis, i.e. if Ponting had been brought in later he would start scoring from the next round?

Anyway, Umar Gul is shown on the scores as correctly scoring 10 points. But when I see him in my team it shows only 3 points. I've also checked my total and his score adds up to 3 points so its not just a typo. If they've made these kinds of fundamental mistakes then there may be others (now or later). Basically, the trust is gone.

There are penalties for changing captains I think.
A big penalty. Considering you can only make 20 changes and changing captains cost you four changes.

Makhaya Ntini will miss out todya's game for South Africa, though he rejoined the squad on Wednesday [after staying home to attend the birth of his second child], it is not thought that he is yet ready.

That's three times that's heppened now, first not thinking, i went with Shahid Afridi and then Clark. I'll bring them back in game or two but had to make some changes.

Speaking of which, Jeremy Bray, we'll he'll have to go some to match that performance again, but all things considered, bot bad at all.

Maybe i am the pacemaker [apt with it being Cheltenham this week], looks good now and in with a chance now, but will have the leading places rested from his grasp by more serious contenders in the middle to latter part of the race. ;)

Only change I made as eatmysix was to make murali captain from ponting after the aussie game, must be a flaw in the scoring then.

I have just got a very detailed response from the website organisers who correctly tell me that Umar Gul got minus 10 points for a golden duck. So I'm happy with that.

The Ponting getting 76 as non-captain was a bit more complicated. But they did say that if you change a player within the same round (e.g. you had Fleming there then just before the Aus game you got Ponting in) you score points for both players in that position.

But you say you always had Ponting, changed him from captain to non-captain, yet scored differently from everyone else? :wenger:

Anyway, I'm happy with the Gul answer so will continue playing. :)

fecking feck they didn't play Strauss....played that idiot Joyce instaed.feck.

I'm going to be fecking bottom

Fulton's not there either!
While he's fit to play, the team selection will probably go easy on him considering his broken finger.

Dalrymple,Monty and Clarke cost me big time. Good to be sitting in second spot though.

I wish I'd had the foresight to include young Mushfiqur Rahim in my team as wicketkeeper.

Oh wait...

I DID.

Joi Bangla!

Don't think he would have been in the team anyway, Macca has been great at number 6 and Bracewell likes playing Patel.

Even though Patel is a very good bowler, I would personally like to see:
Vincent, Fleming, Taylor, Styris, Fulton, Oram, McMillian, Mcullum, Vettori, Franklin, Bond.

That is a very strong batting line up still with 6 bowling options.

I had the foresight to include Mortaza :D

Oh my, I do believe I'm top. A woo and a hoo. I've got 18 changes still left and all. :D

I'm second despite picking 2 players who seem not to be actually playing. Hmmm. Some sort of swapping may be in order.

I have Dwayne Bravo as one of my all rounders, yet he didn't bowl a single over today. Why is this?

Now I may be showing complete ignorance here, but I always thought that an all-rounder was someone who could bat AND bowl.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Sorry Wibbs but you're seventh.

Joint seventh, although maybe not for much longer. lol

I don't know which oe of you lot took the bung out of the good ship Britannia, but she's sinking fast. :nono: ;)

Water coming in, and all the luck going out.

I mean i bring Vincent in and he's out for a duck.

Time for a cliche i think. :D

It's a marathon, not a sprint.
