Redcafe Snooker

Would pay a lot for a hunger games show but it's just James Corden and Shaun Murphy.

Smithy was great in Gav and Stacey.
When it comes to English celebs/comedians there is a long list of feckwits in front of James Corden.
Objectively wrong.

Murphy loves himself and I've never really liked him however I do think his commentary is very insightful. Unpopular opinion but he has grown on me in recent months.

John Virgo is an annoying prick....thinks he is commentating on a football match the way he carries on!
That’s a bit unfair! Really like him but he is getting on a bit. Has real love for snooker. Murphy is the real knob head.

Goodness me, that mistake from Bingham! What was he thinking? Especially after that sensational yellow, how he butchered the shot on the green I’ll never know.

Cannot stand this Jak guy, so predictable watching everyone I want to beat him turn to shit for no apparent reason.

feck having to replace them….i don’t see why they can’t have an iPad for the ref, so he can see it himself without having to do it via instruction

Any reason why? I ask because I don’t like him either, albeit only because he always has a miserable look on his face. Shouldn’t judge a book, but can’t help it.

That's what started it! But since then he really hasn't helped with his general attitude. I just get a really bad vibe off of him with how he barely shakes people's hands, doesn't ever tap the table in appreciation and generally looks like he wants to start a fight with his opponent even when he's winning. Haven't seen a shred of sportsmanship on the guy yet, but admittedly I could've missed some...

Ridiculous how they've never brought some sort of laser pin point system in snooker where lasers can point on the table showing where the balls were before they were disturbed.

Only really watched him play today but you are spot on, he does look a miserable git. He had a face like thunder after Bingham potted that swerve just.

At least it’s not just me. Just asked the wife, who has no interest in snooker, what she thinks of him. She looked at his face and said “looks like a serial killer.”

Are we in the 80s talking about Steve Davis or in the 90s talking about Hendry? :wenger:

Same here. I hadn’t heard of him 10 days ago but seeing him there gives me a really bad vibe. Like he’d be a total arsehole type who’d treat you like a dick for no reason.

His “big interview” came up in a mid session once and I thought ah ok I’ll probably change my mind here, he’s probably alright really - but watching it just convinced me my instincts were correct. Bit John Terryish

If we're going off dislikes of looks (with Jones and Murphy), then I'll throw in my dislike of Stuart Bingham.

He looks like how an annoying git I went to school with (and still have to encounter from time to time) has grown up looking like - and he's also called Stuart, coincidentally. That's never endeared Bingham to me, solely for superficial reasons. If I found him an entertaining player to watch, like Jack, Judd or Luca, then I might overlook the similarity. But, no.

So I want Jak Jones to win by default, though I agree he looks a pretty angry person and is a bit of a grinder of a player. Reminds me of Ali Carter.

This semi final could have been a dream Trump v Lisowski / O'Sullivan, so I'm pretty gutted watching Jones v Bingham to be honest.

Stuart Bingham just looks like one of those innocent chaps that has social anxiety, I get the Jones and Murphy hate they do look like A holes but not Bingham, I think he's a likeable guy. I think your experience with your real life Stuart is clouding your judgement.

Surprised no ones mentioned Selby, always looks like someone in the crowd just let off a disgusting fart.

Of course it is! That was the whole point of my post, that it was a superficial dislike based on his likeness to the Stuart I know in real life. :)

That said, I don't find him entertaining / likeable enough to overlook the similarity - but I'm not saying Bingham himself is particularly dislikable.

I hear you bud.

What a fluke from Jones.

Don’t get the dislike for Jak honestly. He has played smart and within his own abilities And staying really calm and collected. No one knew of this guy and we are questioning his character! Internet for you!

always annoys me how much the commentators drone on about how great the crucible is
