Recommend some N64 games

1080 is great but perhaps an obvious game...Air Boarder 64 is a low budget alternative that I used to play.

Has anyone here ever played Sin & Punishment?

Some great shouts here guys, but I'm mainly looking for less well known games I might have missed. Anything you've played and liked, but might not have been so popular?

OK, OK, it's weird and wonderful you want... I'll try harder!

crusin USA

I had this. Ropey game, even for its time. Quite funny though, the way your car would hit something, flip over and land perfectly facing the right way and ready to go again without a blemish. Cruis'n World was the same, but it was... Well, the clues in the title.

Better racers were Automobili Lamborghini, Sanfransisco Rush 2049 or the very underrated Beetle Adventure Racing (already mentioned).

Conker's Bad Fur Day was a late N64 release, a good platform game from Rare.

Forsaken was a bizarre shoot em up, but good fun. South Park was silly but good fun as a 1st person shooter.

As for games to recommend:
Vigilante 8
Rainbow Six
Worms Armageddon
Bust A Move 2
ClayFighter 63⅓
Cruis'n USA

You might have a hard timne finding the first two as I don't think they were released in the UK.

Starcraft64 - Ported from PC to console and it works great.

Ogre Battle 64 - Apparently the largest game ever made for the N64. I've played this game through multiple times ranging from 24 hours to 80 hours of gameplay. There is so much you can do in character and unit development and storyline it's unbelievable. Plus it has dragons.

Star Wars:Rogue Squadron- Not the longest game but nice grphics and fun to play.

lol I always remembered that there was a bunch of races in California and Arizona and then it looked like they said, oh shit, better finish this :lol:

The problem was that it was an arcade racer built for those machines not for a console.

YouTube - TMK Crusin' USA Part III the music

Its my current ring tone. I find myself humming it all the time.

If you are still playing Goldeneye/Perfect Dark with a mouse, with a bit of research on t'internet I've got a proper set up now that lets you aim properly. It's ace.

Also, if you are interested, you can play these games multiplayer online, though I've not personally tried it myself.

My god, in my memory the graphics were much better. There were some stages in which bugs would fly into your windscreen, I always loved that. :D Those were the days.

Right, go to the options->settings->plugins and you should see input plugins. Change this to the bottom one (N-Rage's) and hey presto you can set the mouse to work.

I've been trying to set up the emu on my plasma, but can't get it remotely close to covering the screen ratio. Any ideas how I can make it full screen?

I'm not totally sure, since I don't do that myself. However if you go to the graphics settings, down the bottom there's an option to hide the advanced settings. When you take that option of, you get advanced and Rom settings tab.

In the Rom settings tab, you can seemingly force the width/height of the emulation.

Also, remember that most N64 games had widescreen and screen size settings, so you can see if they make a difference.

Do share. Although I'm done with Goldeneye on secret agent.

I'll give it a bash. Bit frustrating cos I don't want to play it on a 50" tele with only half the screen covered as that's bound to cause some damage eventually, what with the blue borders around the emu.

Finally got it to go fullscreen on the tele.

After changing the resolution, it let me use the fullscreen option, enabling full screen on the TV instead of defaulting to full screen on the monitor.

Time for another bash on some old classics.

So I'm at home with flu and I have happened upon project 64 (whoever invented this deserves eternal happiness) now along with an old pc controller I got out of the loft I'm on my way to finally getting around to completing Zelda "Ocarina of time". Anyway I was wondering what the best star wars game is on the 64, anyway know the score? I hope I'm ill for a week!

Rogue Squadron is the way to go.
