Recommend me a TV Series

I have up to season 4 of Supernatural. It's not great by any means but certainly watchable. Some great music in it too.

It's not a TV series but George Carlin DVDs/Albums are bright and fecking hilarious.

Okay I've now seen all of The Office (US), Flight of the Conchords and The Big Bang Theory (which I especially liked).

I have all of Spaced that still needs watching, as well as the first season of How Not To Live Your Life (the first episode of which was quite amusing). Am currently downloading Fawlty Towers.

What type of show are you looking for next?

I was gonna say IT Crowd but then checked the OP and saw you'd seen it. Can't think of many other nerd shows. Chuck is good and he's a nerd, kind of, but like a cool nerd, who has all the governments secrets.

I like The Sarah Silverman Program. Not a classic but it has some pretty good moments and she is rather sexy.

Chuck does sound up your street, not an all out comedy but a very tongue in cheek action comedy show which also has a fair share of fair ladies.

As for other sitcoms of similar ilk was it the style of Big bang theory you liked or the type of characters? Mark in peep show is quite a geek, although not really a science geek just more of a middle class geek but the show doesn't follow the classic American sitcom style that BBT does.

Arrested development is also one of the best shows ever so i'd recommend that although you don't seem to be raving too much about flight of the conchords so maybe you shouldn't listen to me!

Rules of Engagement mate
trust me

Right so now i've seen all of

Fawlty Towers
I'm Alan Partridge
Knowing Me You Know You... With Alan Partridge
How Not To Live Your Life (which was exceptionally good - I really really liked it)

I go back to uni tomorrow, so crisis somewhat averted. I'm still going to give a look in to other shows mentioned here.

not meaning to hijack your thread but....

I'd like some reccomendations too, though not from the same genre (i'm a big comedy fan anyways and have seen most of those mentioned in this thread)
I'm thinking something more dramitic

Having never seen them first time around i decided to 'do' the sopranos since xmas and have now reached S5E11. I should finish the whole lot sometime next week (season 6 is 21 episodes!?) and I will need something else to eat up my latenight weekday tv schedule from then on

i've not seen Lost or 24 which i know are fairly popular atm, but neither really appealed to me on first look, are they any good? what films/books etc do they compare to?

I remember watching S1 of six feet under on CH4 years ago and was thinking of revisiting that -were the later series any good?

so, what do you reccomend? Old or new but something with a good story to get into.

I've just finished watching The Shield today. One of the best shows I have ever seen, you should try that.

I still have The Lost Room and The Wire to watch but any other suggestions would be welcome. I've watched all of Lost, Dexter, Fringe & V so far and enjoyed them all so anything along them lines would be good.

I'd say Lost. Am a massive fan and the storyline is very good, the characters are all brilliant and it just has something engrossing about it. My favourite show of all time.

Archer is brilliant for those looking for a new comedy. 20 mins, animated comic book style, about a spy agency. Fast paced and hilarious.

West Wing, Dexter and House are all must see's. Prison Break S1 is good, I've just finished S2 and it dropped in quality imo but I've been told it picks up again in 3 and 4.

As above except obviously you've seen House!

I will probably get a load of stick for this, but i think Glee is great.

Deadwood and Oz.

I finished Sopranos series 5 last night
am gutted they killed adriana....she never did get them baps out :(

only 21 glorious hours of season 6 to go

Reckon i'll give Dexter a go next as that definately looks my kind of thing.
Then maybe Lost but i'm still unsure about that - a group of people get stranded on a island right? -then what? killer monkeys?

Oh it's so much more :D

Hung and Sons of anarchy are pretty good. Even is the main character in sons of anarchy is the lad who was constantly getting rammed as a teenager in queer as folk.

I envy you watching Sopranos first time, fantastic show that was.

Very much enjoyable rewatching it too.

its a great show and i am enjoying it, its maintaining the quality which is impressive given that they're hour long shows - I thought series 5 was one of the best ones actually

not sure about a rewatch at the moment though, i've been doing 2-4 hours a night for over 2 months now and as much as i like it i'm really looking forward to the end so i can stop for a while! bit peeved that family guy has sort of told me how it ends though - 'kin stewie
