I know, that's why I said the results are significantly different. What I meant is that it's fairly unimportant in the context of the game. No bonus rolls, no extra money on go, no houses/hotels to land on, etc. Here it's just different criteria for picking players, and while some are better than others, it's not that big a deal.There's more to it than that you just can't roll a 1. There are many more combinations to roll a 7 than to roll a 12 for example. If you just randomise numbers from 2 to 12, it's totally different to rolling two dice.
Just roll two dice on random.org, should be the best way to do it:

edit: Actually, r(12) would probably be better for this as it spreads the players out more quickly. Rolling two dice would cluster players around certain criteria more early in the game.
