Realistically, who have money to buy Mbappe?

What comes after will forever changed football.

Mbappe on a free. Imagine how much wages he'd command
I don't think there will be this kind of change to football overall when that happens - yes, it will be a great payday for Mbappe, but this is something that occasionally happens, and just does not apply to most contract situations. High-profile player at a club that does not need transfer fees and does not want to extend his contract is a special situation.

Can't believe the poor grammar in the title

It should be "whomst haveth the money to buy Mbappe?"

No club from operational revenue. Only way is if the owner stumps the cash directly.

More likely his contract runs down and he'll go cheap or even free due to that. Almost certainly to Real Madrid I would think.

Can't see PSG showing weakness and selling him, more likely he runs his contract down and goes to Real Madrid.

At the end, they're still a business, and as much money as they have, they would definitly choose getting 100/150 mil for him now than nothing next year.

Question is, would real be tempted to try back dealing with Mbappe? Considering it's 150M

They'd be tempted to just pay Mbappes (AGENT) 50M free and get him for free.

Well I think he'll push for a move, wants Real Madrid by the looks, rumours going around they'll use Varane as a swap or Hazard as he's on a large amount.
Get rid of DDG and use that for him,
Fantasy land i know

Nothing about PSG is a business from what I have seen. It is an exercise in brand building for Saudi's from what I know. I suspect they will move heaven and earth to keep Mbappe, and he will likely stay.

I doubt clubs these days would be willing to pay 1m per week for a player, unless there’s huge commercial revenue they could generate from the player. 1m per week wage is over 50m spending a year, 4 years contract would cost 200m. Plus other players may ask for bigger pay rise too. And it all adds up to heavy debts most clubs are suffering too in COVID market. Also, there almost no resell value if the players doesn’t turn out as good as expected in future (ie Bale), due to very high wage.
my point is that in 36 weeks or whatever it is he can pick up a 36million signing on bonus if he goes on a bosman
your right no club is going to pay that as a wage... but he can earn a crazy amount of money by signing a bosman in january - and frankly he would be crazy not to

Nobody will pay £150m plus for a player right now. Maybe us, Real & Barca would under normal circumstances, but not after Covid. City & Chelsea usually buy in bulk rather than splash 150m on one player. Bayern usually steal their rivals in Germany’s players for dirt cheap, Mbappe is not a Bayern signing. I don’t think Juve have ever spent that kind of money either. Liverpool no chance.

Maybe City will magically buy him for 60m and have him on 150k a week, and he will be very happy there and never want to leave, like all their transfers ;)

Pointless thread really, he's certainly going to Madrid next and pretty likely on a free next year. He may go to them with a fee this summer, but I doubt it. Only team could tempt him is Barca maybe, but do they have that kind of money?

If you would sign Kane for 100m then Mbappe is easily worth 150m.

Clubs and agents are making players run down their contracts now, the days of the mega transfers are over.

Mbappe and Haaland are the only two that would get anywhere near 100m.

I simply cannot see PSG letting him go at the moment. It would be an enormous loss of face for the rulers of Qatar to have one of their twin jewels leave them a year before their big football PR event. PSG are not run like a regular club so it's immaterial if they don't get a big transfer fee for him. For them it's more the perception of being a "smaller" club than the Spanish or PL giants.
He'll end up signing a contract that would allow him to leave after the WC to a club of his choice. Madrid probably. But who knows if Zidane leaves.

Luckily for him they have no choice in the matter, he holds all the cards and he will be crazy to sign a new contract,

He has the pick of any other club in world football next year, PSG won't stick him in then reserves all next season if he refuses to sign, it's a win win for Mbappe,

If he has his heart set on playing for Madrid and tbh it looks that way, he cannot sign.a contract, Madrid won't be able to afford it.

Best thing to do for him is stick to his guns, leave on a free next season, go to whatever club you want, absolute travesty for PSG though, the face of French Football and your club leaving on a free after you forked out 160-180 million euros for him

Your points are all very valid if PSG was managed as a normal club. They just have a reputation for being very hard on players not renewing contracts and putting them under a lot of pressure.

At this point, my money is on him seeing this year out at PSG then signing a pre-contract in Jan.

I mean, if someone tries to buy this Summer it will be €100-€150m to sign him and his wages demands aren't going to be cheap.

What makes most sense is to meet his wage demands in Jan then bump him €30-€50m signing on fee. Win, win for everyone. What needs to be remembered with Mbappe is that he is still very young, so an additional year at PSG isn't that harmful to him from a career point of view.

Will go to R Madrid, just a question of when and how it happens I think.

Only a year left on his deal at end of season. It'll depend on if PSG are prepared to keep him for the extra year and sacrifice fee they can get this summer or not.

That reputation is solely based on Rabiot. Most of their players have had no issues due to not renewing their contracts, Ibrahimovic being the biggest name.

Ultimately the worst that can happen is Mbappe is frozen from the first team for a year which will be not ideal obviously but he is so young and i dont think this will happen, it would be terrible PR for PSG to freeze out one of best players on the planet and the media frenzy would not be worth it.

Could you imagine the uproar, it's not Mbappe's fault they paid so much cash for him, he's hardly been a flop and done really well for them, but at the same time clubs are ruthless and will release you into the abyss if you are not performing (apart from United it seems) , so why can't players do the same,

Ironically PSG have opened this can of worms with players running down there contracts to be able to leave to the clubs they want after breaking the transfer market with the disgusting priced they paid for Neymar and Mbappe a few years back, it's a pretty sight when it has came full circle and now biting them on the arse.

Yeah, the old we never spend more than 60 million pounds on a player and we have a wage budget lie.

I'd love to know the true figure of their business, no way on this earth have the picked up all them players for the fee's they have.

I don't follow the logic. Whether a player leave for free or for a reasonable fee depends on the selling club, not the buyer. Monaco are the ones that asked for a huge fee and if PSG/Real Madrid didn't offer +150m, Mbappé would have left for free the following summer.

Also I forgot to mention, top transfer fees have grown at a slower pace than revenues in the last decade. It's a misconception to think that the market has been broken, for example Real Madrid has more than doubled its revenues between 2008 and 2018 but the record transfer of Ronaldo in 2009 isn't the double of Mbappé's transfer. And Neymar move was out of market, it wasn't a transfer.
