Realistic swap deals for Pogba?

The majority of these suggestsions seem to do little more than solve a problem for the selling team and allow them to take one of our (ostensibly, at least) best players while offloading some bit of old tat they don’t want. Without even mentioning links with someone like Dybala, which would be a like-for-like replacement, at least in terms of swapping one player who doesn’t want to play for us for another player who doesn’t want to play for us.

De Ligt if i could. De Ligt is not the fastest CB in first metres. But this boy is defending with his whole body.
De Ligt has the winning mentality, fighting and the ability and braveness to want to reach the ball first. Special on set pieces.

Back to where he came from. But if Pogba could be really consistent on top level really often. I would keep him. But his inconsistent give me doubts and reduce my belief on him. I want top level consistent week in and week out. As most as possible of course.

So yeah. I vote for De Ligt. I have always like his fighting, winning and braveness mentality. De Ligt is a winner and warrior, on the pitch. Always give you 100%.

There are only 3 genuine destinations in my view, I don't see us letting him go to another PL team and I doubt Barca are interested. De Ligt is a Raiola player so forget him, and this Ronnie fantasy needs to end imo.

Real Madrid - Valverde or Odegaard
Juventus - Bentancur
PSG - Marquinhos
Yes I think these would be the 3 pogba would only consider as well. Barca have dropped right off and none of the other spanish and italian teams would be big enough for his ego. I dont think anyone will stump up the money for him in January and we will probably sell in the summer for about £30-£40 mill. No one will be offering massive money with a year left on his contract.
As for swap deals, De Ligt would be my pick, but that wont happen. I think we will be offered Dybala, but we should turn it down. He apparently had the chance to come to the Premiership last summer, but turned it down.

with a swap deal you need a player who is really motivated to come to United and someone who is in the Manager's plans

its hard to marry those two aspects and the fear is you end up compromising

personally I'd love Frenkie De Jong in a deal where Barca want to replace an out of contract Messi to pacify their fans who will be going apeshit. Pogba + 10m to sweeten the deal

we need technically good young players

not sure a player like De Jong 'dreams of Manchester' but he might be inclined to play with Donny.

De Ligt also is a possibility

I'd say undisclosed fee sale will be the most likely outcome

Wouldn't mind this. Juve has alot of midfielders and play with only two central midfielders so they wouldn't be hurt replacing Bentancur with someone of Pogba's quality

the problem I could see there is wages. Not sure what Bentacur makes but I'd say Pogba is on 3-4 times that now and I'm sure he'd want more if he were to move without a fee involved.

Would prefer Varane over De Ligt since the former has pace to complement Maguire. De Ligt and Maguire would still have issue with pace.

Most likely it will be Dybala who Juve will offer and most likely we will turn it down. The club has said that it will only accept players who are on our recruirment list. This will drag on and we will accept 30m in August.

We did allegedly move pretty hard on Dybala last year, so it’s possible he is on our recruitment list. I suppose it’ll be down to whether or not we think we’ve got another shot at Sancho or we think that ship has sailed.

Minus Odegaard* these three are the only acceptable answers. And we of course would only want to get a player back who has internal drive to be the best, not just perform when things are going well.

But Marquinhos would be an outstanding acquisition. He would instantly be our best defensive center mid, center-back, and probably right back.

*Odegaard -- there is no doubt he's extremely talented and good at football things like passing the ball to teammates and controlling passes etc, I just don't see him having the physicality to do well in our current squad. We aren't fast and athletic enough. Red Bull just looked quicker and more enthusiastic than us last night, all across the pitch.

If it’s Real then Varane or Valverde, if it’s Juve then De Ligt and if it’s PSG then just straight up cash.

So we double his current wages then, and we're still coming out on top. Then we have whatevers leftover from Pogba's weekly wages to give Lingard a 50K a week raise!

To be honest I'm not even 100% sure he'd want to go to Ligue 1. With the way things are I think the sooner we can move him on the better it'll be for him and us and I don't see any deal happening that doesn't involve a swap aspect as Pogba is a marketing magnet so to save fwce we'll require a player to add to the money to make it look like we're getting more than we are. Dybala is exactly the kibd of dumb deal we'd do, he's a player who didn't want to come here and plays in a position we aren't short in.

I put Odegaard as he's Norwegian and he's not getting a foothold at Real, plus he can play off the right or #10, truth is I doubt he'd want to come here and if Ole and the staff have any common sense they'd be insisting on a midfielder not an attacker in any part exchange deal, we are so short of quality options in that double pivot.

Odegaard is a good shout. Real would take that, imo. If Ole could convince him, that'd be a great deal.

We should be asking money not swap deal. Even if they don’t have money now, there are ways to do it like using loan transfer deal and fees with obligation to buy.

I can’t think realistic swap deal that also suits us. Lot of their star players wouldn’t be sold, the ones they want to get rid aren’t good enough for us or don’t even want to come here but only for money’s sake which the last thing you want to do is to add another deadwood or not needed player or no commitment player into our squad.

Bentacur is probably the most realistic one so him plus cash = Pogba. He had good season under Sarri played in b2b role and regista role under Sarri. But he’s been underperforming this season under Pirlo and we don’t really have good history with South American as well, there is also a language barrier too. He could be worth a punt but I have concern.

Varane should be a complete no-no. Hes really off it, been extremely poor and is a complete liability when Ramos doesnt play.

Marquinihos is PSGs skipper isn't he? He's loved by the president as well so that deal will not happen.

Hes probably worth about 35 to 40m tops now. Not sure we will be getting much for him in terms of a swap.

Rather get the money and put that into a top class defender or 2 good defenders.

I'd sell him for whatever we can next month and get Bissouma.
Low grade replacement and wouldn't be anything other than a decent squad player. He's not a game changer in the way Pogba is.

Really we need a KDB type

I think we need a deep lying playmaker to pair with Bruno and Fred. I wouldn't be entirely against a swap for Rodri. He's not really performed as expected as Fernandinho's replacement but his style of play would compliment Fred in that double pivot more than two attacking minded midfielders ahead of him like in City

You would want to send Pogba to City? Ignoring the fact that Rodri might be a good option for us, I think we need to insist that Pogba leave the prem.

Yeah its never a bad idea to have good players in your squad I guess, so I wouldn't say No to United signing Odegaard if he was available. I would worry that he could be another Januzaj but that's still better than James or Mata or Lingard.

But I would hope that we could get a better player in a swap with Pogba. But if he really is that desperate to get out then maybe that's not possible. Its depressing times. All we need is to get hammered on Saturday to add to this shit year.

I think Marquinhos would be my favourite, incredible player. Oodegard would be class as well.

Him or Varane. I think Marquinhos is more realistic. But Pogba can of course refuse to sign for PSG and demand Juve, but he should prefer PSG over the reserves.

I think we're slightly fortunate latterly that Pogba has garnered some decent form. Hopefully that would draw more concrete interest.

I think there'll be a decent market for him at around 40-60m. Swap deals always feel like a compromise on who you take in return. Go for the money and get someone who fits exactly what we need - a skillset similar to Carrick.

Don't think we'd find anyone who played passes sick as his were v RB Lipzeig so try persuade him to stay for cost of a better contract. Get Grealish anyway

Grealish but there is no way Villa would entertain the idea....probably laugh at us.
