For discussing a realistic summer transfer window, this thread has gone bonkers. The constant links with Monaco players is tiring as well. We're not going to buy half their team!
I'm amazed at the sheer number of players people think we are going to bring in next summer when realistically 4/5 is about maximum (5 if we lose De Gea)!
INS
GK - Donarumma - Would be my preference ( the last keeper to impress me at such a young age was De Gea himself!)
RB/LB - Semedo/ Mendy (Depends what Mourinho views Darmian as more)
CB - Keane (He's English and at a decent age, I don't think he's first choice but he'd be a very nice addition and defence isn't a concern at the moment)
DM/CM - Not going to lie, don't see an outstandingly obvious choice here but anyone of Fabinho, Bakayoko, Matuidi, Dier etc wouldn't go amiss. I think we'll only sign one though and get Pereira back into the squad.
ST - Griezmann (Though I would love us to go for Lukaku especially given Zlatan's injury)
OUT
De Gea - Madrid bound? £50m+
Rooney - Off for more gametime £12m-15m
Darmian - Back to Italy IMO £8m-12m
I think Young, Fellaini etc have shown enough to warrant a squad place a little longer.
Considering our biggest problem is scoring and Zlatan will be gone, if this is who we signed we would probably have no chance next season at competingIN
Lindelof CB
Mendy LB
Matuidi CDM
Mahrez RW
Just can't see us buying Greizmann to play centre forward or number 10. The only position I think we would sign him to play would be RW so Mahrez is a more realistic and cheaper alternative if that doesn't happen.
Silva is Portuguese isn't he? Still fancy him though.Might sound ridiculous but I like the idea of a Keane, two Brazilians (B. Silva, Fabinho) and a French striker (Griezmann) in red so I'd like to see that.
Sorry Portuguese (don't know too much about him), even better though!Silva is Portuguese isn't he? Still fancy him though.

I think Silva is our fall back option should we fail with Griezmann, the one player we look like getting from Monaco is Fabinho. I think Fabinho, Griezmann and a fullback and we will be done. We could sign a CB if we find someone dumb enough to pay 20 million for Jones.I doubt we'd get two Monaco players in one window. It'd be far more realistic to go for someone like Mahrez rather than Silva. They both seem to have similar qualities.
I reckon purchases of Mahrez, Fabinho, Griezmann and Semedo would see us challenging for the CL next season (assuming we get there).
What game is this? FIFA? FM?
We had 3 players leaving this year already all on big wages. We are gonna see Ibra,Rooney,De Gea(hopefully not),Darmian,Fellaini,Jones,Young,Januzaj leaving or at least some of them. How is it then strange to expect 6 to 8 new players? What game is this? FIFA? FM?

That isn't too say that we don't have some quality players, just that it is difficult to know where to start. For example, I want a new LB, but would I prioritise this over a CF? Probably not. It is incredibly difficult for a manager to get every single transfer correct so my thinking would be fairly simple - try and make improvements in the area that has affected us most, namely the forwards
To that end, I would be interested in any forward, younger than 30, who has pace, power, trickery and proven goalscoring ability. When I saw forward, I am including #10s and wide midfielders in that too
I would also 100% snap up Jermain Defoe. I know some fans would criticise this as a stop gap but imagine if we had a player like Defoe coming off the bench in the 70th minute against Hull, Burnley, Bournemouth and WBA this season! I am almost certain we would have at least 4 more points had we had this as an opiton

No club in europe spent £200m gross in the whole of 2016-17 so an article that claims that United will spend £300m is unlikely to be even remotely realistic.
We won't get much for £30m. Maybe a Keane or something. I 'd be very surprised if there's not a minimum of 2 £60m+ signings. No club in europe spent £200m gross in the whole of 2016-17 so an article that claims that United will spend £300m is unlikely to be even remotely realistic.
Try one star signing + 2 at around £30m each plus a keeper if De Gea leaves. Prices will be insane this summer.

I think we'll keep Fellaini as cover since we are short of CMs, and he offers aerial strength.Out:
Jones
Smalling
Fellaini
Rooney
De Gea
Outs = Rooney - Fellaini (I just don't rate him) - Jones - Carrick - Maybe Darmian.
In's = Move heaven and earth for Antoine Griezmann, has it all in my book and a must sign for United.
Semendo -, he is pure class, has speed, strength and skill.
Lindelof - A solid centre back who would complement Bailly
Varane - Another quality defender who is 23 if we don't go for Lindelof.
Morata - 24 years old forward who RMadrid see as a long term prospect, but if De Gea goes to Madrid you can be sure one if not both players I mentioned would be part of any deal done by both clubs.
Given current rumours, I can see this happening:
IN: Keane, Dier, Bernardo Silva, Griezmann
OUT: Jones, Young, Mata, Rooney, Zlatan ()
(Edit): obviously Perreira returning will be like a new signing as well.
In
Belotti £50m
Griezmann £85m
Silva £45m
Fabinho £35m
Aurier £15m
Gimenez £25m
Out
Ibrahimovic
Rooney
Carrick maybe
Young/Darmian
Ins:
Griezmann
Bernanrdo Silva
Fabinho
Semedo
Michael Keane
Outs:
Ibra (end of contract)
Rooney £0- think we've already agreed a deal with Everton and we waiver the fee to help with his contract demands
Jones
Romero
Young
Ins.
Fabinho - 40m
Matuidi - 25m
Greizman or Belotti - 50-85m
Cheap big backup striker - like Llorente mould.
Keane - 30m
Out: Rooney.
Yeah, I've been hoping we could get away with not signing one this summer but there's no way we don't sign a first choice LB now.Any of you lot actually watch any games?
Where's the left back?? We don't have one and is clearly going to be one of his biggest priorities this summer.
