With a good right back we could easily play Sancho on the right.
Yeah, it annoys me the elitist attitude some fans on here have to players who came from the championship. I think with some fans it wouldnt matter how well they did.I think he'd be excellent, but initially an unpopular signing.
If it had to be just one id go right back, but we need both. Full backs are so important nowadays, you can't afford to have ones as poor as ours
It sounds like Wan Bissaka might be the one to go.It's scary that we are still discussing this after the 2 year Sancho saga. Not all positions are going to be solved this summer and I think RW is probably the least important of the problem areas as we have some decent options that should be able to do a job there. We should be able to get a good fee in Europe for Dalot and bring in a good RB, or else go full FIFA 20 and get the RWB. But we need to solve CM, CDM, CF and CB first.
I’m sure he could improve them but are they even capable of being ‘good enough’RW I think ETH can improve both AWB and Dalot
RB has zero quality options, where as we have sancho for RW.
Either sign a RW (Antony, Dembele etc) and a young CB who can cover RB for a season (Timber) - cost £70-80m
Or
Sign a proper right back (tbh I don’t really know who) and trust the options we have at RW (Sancho, Amad, Elanga) so we can invest elsewhere - cost £30-40m
Any chance we use Timber as a RB and as cover at CB? Basically killing two birds with one stone as we allow AWB and Jones/Bailly to leave and invest the money in other positions. Or would that still leave us too thin in numbers?
He's better on the left.
Ideally both but in an either/or scenario I’d prioritise right back. Amad is 19 and for the investment we’ve made in him, we have to start giving him minutes to see if he’s going to be good enough. He’s too good for 23s, learned nothing from his spell at rangers so we can’t waste more of his development. If he’s not good enough, I’d sell him with a buy back option next season. Can’t risk another Martial stagnating on our hands. I’d also be happy enough to see Hannibal get game time on the right flank even if it’s probably not his long term position.Which would you choose as personally can only see us signing one of these this summer?
I'd rather play players in positions that will allow them to make the most of their talents. This team either needs to sign a top right winger, or play Amad there. He might well be better on the left. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be better for United if he played on the right.

It's not that it isn't a problem but we have a lot of problems and in terms of priorities, it's behind midfield, forward line, right back and maybe centre back. We've paid a lot of money on Amad, Sancho and Pellistri for this position so it might be time to fix the priorities and try Amad out at right wing. The youngsters are promising but need minutes. Amad seems to have beefed up a bit and although he got a pitiful amount of playing time for Rangers this year, his attacking contributions were decent, as they have been for us at any level he's played. Rome wasn't built in a day and if it's not working out, we can dip into the market in January. Both
Can't believe people don't think the RW isnt a problem. We literally have 0 players who are good there.. and it's been the case for about 10 years now barring a short stretch with Mason.
RB are there any great options available? We'd all love the next Trent or Cancelo but you're more likely to sign Darmian etc.
I think Sancho probably is our best right sided player currently, but it is far from ideal. It's just a case of 'making do' in my opinion. I agree that ten Hag will probably play Sancho there at some stage. It's just another position that is a priority among other priorities.Ideally but it's not always possible and sometimes what's best for the team isn't necessarily what's best for the individual player. If we don't buy a right winger this summer then I suspect Ten Hag will try Sancho there.
Greenwood probably won't play for us again and Rashford is clearly no right winger.

Our wide options looked quality going into the start of the season. Crazy how things have changed. Putting faith in Rashford is dangerous, but you can't solve everything in one go. If Rashford can't regain his form, perhaps Bruno or Hannibal will be given games there. I'd loan Elanga out.It is a priority but last summer when we had Greenwood we signed Sancho to solve that problem area it was a priority then too. Ten Hag rightly will prioritise CB, RB, CM and probably a striker so I don't see it as a huge problem to play Sancho there for a year and hope Rashford regains some form on the left.

If Rashford regained a shred of confidence and form, it would solve a lot of problems for us. Hopefully, after a summer of rest, he gets back to his old self. Ole has a lot to answer for flogging so many of these players and it's not surprising really that the ever-presents under him like Bruno, Maguire, Shaw and Rashford are all falling apart or playing badly.Yeah they did but as you say things can change quickly in football. Let's hope they change for the better quickly as well.
