Smalling (6) Controlled. Marked tightly to win possession. Always available as an outlet.
Ferdinand (6) Neat. Mostly composed passing and good concentration.
Vidic (6) Tidy. Clearance header and overall dominance at the back. Subbed.
Fabio (7) Active. Extremely mobile up front and intercepted well. Lost ball carelessly.

Nani (5) Subdued. Quick feet and speed from wide and missed shots/header. Lacked cutting edge.
Cleverley (7) Comfortably. Short passing and good possession play. Played with tempo.
Anderson (7) Powerhouse :devil: Strength, speed and mobility from centre. Spread play capably.
Young (8) Threat MOTM :devil: Pace and directness down the flanks with consistent delivery. Assisted Rooney, Reid OG.

Rooney (7) Clinical :devil: Sharp play and passing. Shot wide, after scoring opening goal.
Welbeck (5) Peripheral. Good movement across pitch without cutting edge. Drifted out of game.

Subs

Evans (6) Brave. Used his physique to handle attackers, win the ball and clear any danger.
Berbatov (5) Quiet. Found space in tight areas and sent in some crosses.
Jones (6) Solid. Added strength and stability at the back whilst maintaining our lead.

Overall (6) Victory. The result was the most important thing and we got that on a weekend that failed to ignite. Onwards and upwards.
 
de Gea - 5: I am less concerned about the goal that he let in and more about his lack of command of the box. For someone who is so tall and has got good hands, His lack of willingness to come for crosses into the box worries me.
Smalling - 7 Did quite well and was easily our best defender
Rio - 6 Decent
Vidic - 6 Was injured from the start of the match or would have done better I imagine.
Fabio - 6 Was out muscled sometimes and gave away the ball for the goal. Young and learning in guess.
Nani - 6 Forgot his scoring boots at home. Was quite frustrating at times but what is new in that?
Cleverley - 7 Did quite well. Needs to be a bit more disciplined though. He and Anderson got caught ahead of the ball way too often. When one goes ahead, the other needs to stay back to cover the CB's.
Anderson - 6 Same as Cleverley. Got caught will the ball a few times though.
Young - 8 I kept screaming for him to try and go from the outside for once instead of cuting in everytime and he suddenly did it and scored.
Welbeck - 5 Was not as involved as he was during the City Game
Rooney - 7 Good to see him score in the first game itself.

SUBS
Evans - 7 Was solid. Didnt do an Evans and give away the ball cheaply for onces.
Jones - 7 Looks good.
Berbatov - 6 Was on the pitch for too little time to make an impact. Did bring about a bit of calm when we needed it with his ability to hold the ball and get ot of tight situations with the ball at his feet.
