Van der Sar - 7 - Did nothing wrong. Solid enough.

Evra - 8 - Our best attacking outlet. Much better than in Germany.
Vidic - 8 - Did everything he needed to.
Ferdinand - 8 - See Vidic.
Neville - 6 - A pretty darn woeful performance. Almost gifted Chelsea a goal first through a stupid foul in the penalty area, and then again by being about half a mile behind the rest of our defenders and playing one of the Chelsea players onside. Finished it up by spooning most of our attacks harmlessly out of play or to the opposition in the last ten minutes, when we were desperately pressing for the equaliser.

Giggs - 7 - Didn't do that great, but created at least. Shame that he lost the ball in the last minute, that would have been one final chance to curl it into the box.
Scholes - 6 - Some lovely balls out wide to Neville, but largely hurried out of possession too easily. Nearly sent off.
Fletcher - 7 - Gets a 6 for a terrible first half, and an 8 for a much-improved second.
Valencia - 7 - Did fairly well against Zhirkov in an attacking sense, but failed to contain him in return.
Park - 6 - Showing once again why he shouldn't play in high-intensity encounters like this one.

Berbatov - 6 - On his own admittedly, but was totally impotent. Wasted a great chance right at the end.


Subs

Nani - 7 - Came on and set up the goal. Should have been on at least ten minutes earlier, or even started.
Macheda - 7 - Scored the goal and set the move up prior to that. Didn't really have time for anything else since every one of our attacks afterwards ended with Neville spanking it out of play.
Gibson - 5 - What. The. feck. Worst substitution I think I've ever seen. He didn't even touch the ball. Should have been Rafael.

Berbatov - 6 - Didnt have a lot of service, poor movement/runs.

Nani - 7 - Well done
Macheda 7 - Well done you lucky fecker, 3rd jammy goal in a row. They all count.

Surprised with Neville's ratings, I thought he did alright.
 
VDS - 7 - Unlucky with both of the goals

Neville - 4 - Absolutely and utterly garbage. Whether its his crossing (which bar a cross to Berbatov was overhit like it has been for the last 5 matches), his passing (which seemed to find the touchline more than a red shirt) or his tackling (saved by a poor ref with a shit decision). No way to defend him after a few shite performances - too slow.
Rio - 7.5 - Good, getting back to good form, some good saving headers
Vidic - 7 - Apart from the two scuffed clearances, he was solid throughout
Evra - 6 - Played every game this season - needs a rest.

Fletcher - 7 - picked it up second half...why can't you do that from the start?
Scholes - 7 - passing was superb throughout.
Giggs - 6 - average - needs a few games since the injury to get some form back

Valencia - 5 - in Zhirkov's back pocket for most of the match
Park - 5.5 - Looked tired
Berbatov - 6 - average. Needs to play more as a striker when we're in a 4-3-3 formation.

Nani - 8 - MOM, think he changed the game. Beats his man, just showed to be a threat for the 1st time in the match. Why didn't he start?
Gibson - ? - did he touch the ball? Strange sub (although I realise Fletcher had a yellow)
Macheda - 7 - looked good. Wouldn't mind him starting in some of the premiership games.
 
Evra was our worst defender today so feck knows how he's getting such high ratings...

2 for the first half, 7 for the second half ... average 4 or 5 at the most.

Van der Sar - 6 – Didn’t have much to do. Could of saved Drogba’s shot.

Evra - 7 – Played well, busted his guts and was always an option. Got caught a few times.
Vidic - 8 – Was everywhere motm for me.
Ferdinand – 7.5 – Perhaps could of had better positioning to cover Malouda’s ball but did well nevertheless.
Neville - 5 – I don’t have enough words to describe his performance.

Giggs - 6 – OK, tried to create but wasn’t really effective. Turned over the ball way to many times during crucial stages.
Scholes - 6 – Erratic.
Fletcher - 7 – Bad first, decent second where he tried his best. Not much he could do.
Valencia - 6 - Did ok, tried to get at Zhirkov but wasn’t really effective in doing so. Beat him a couple of times but was surprisingly muscled off the ball to many times.
Park - 6 – meh.

Berbatov - 6 – Isolated, and didn’t take advantage of what he had. The last chance was the one that could of done it for us, he didn’t take it.


Subs

Nani - 7 – Did well well he came on, maybe should of started.
Macheda - 7 – Scored and occupied there defence, I think he should be given more time against Bayern.
Gibson - 5 – No point.
 
VDS - the lino is a fecking disgrace. But once that flag has stayed down, Edwin has got to do better. Don't give me any "it was a hard shot" bollocks. He's got a hand on it and it's gone in on his near post.

Neville - used the ball terribly at times.

Evra - the man cannot deliver a final pass. I have been saying this for years. Looks tired.

I think he's just tired.

Played the most amount of games this season? Think maybe Fabio should get a chance in one of the premiership games.
 
I thought fergie got his team wrong as well. Playing Neville, Scholes and Giggs in the same team after a midweek champions league game puts too much pressure on the rest of the squad to cover ground for them, especially fletcher who looked tired himself. Add to that berbatov who does close to nothing and you're in trouble.
 
VDS - 5 - should have done better for Drogba's goal

G Nev - 4 - dire.
Evra - 5 - looks exhausted, making far too many errors
Rio - 6 - ok
Vidic - 7 - decent display

Scholes - 4 - shocking passing especially in the 2nd half. One game too many this week
Fletcher - 6 - tried hard but cutting edge missing
Valencia - 5 - very quiet, almost no impact
Giggs - 5 - no quality, terrible control at times in the 2nd half, couldn't be bothered to track back after losing possession.

Park - 6 - ok
Berbatov - 5 - had the chances to score but wasted them

subs

Nani - 7 - one super piece of play for the goal
Macheda - 6 - did ok, lucky to score, just hit him
Gibson - 6 - not on for long but did ok
 
VDS - 6 Not great for the goal but kicked well and had little else to do

Neville - 5 poor control at times, poor passing, horrific crossing, ok defending
Vidic - 8 did nothing wrong
Rio - 8 did well, could have played with a bit more urgency but still
Evra - 6 pushed forward which helped the team get on the front foot, final ball was mostly wank

Valencia - 5 didn't really do anything of note
Giggs - 5 awful first half, better in the second, created stuff...kinda
Feltcher - 7 like everyone was poor in the first half but was much better in the 2nd
Scholes - 5 long passing was a little off but still made some sublime crossfield balls, had to be taken off before being sent off
Park - 5 game passed him by really, should have done better with that chance just outside the box

Berbatov - 6 not playing in his strongest role he did ok, delivery in to him was shocking. Could have done better with that volley

Nani - 6.5 set up the goal with a good attack, ran at them well and caused problems, should have been on earlier
Macheda - 6 good to have him back, we may see a fair bit of him towards the end of the season
Gibson.........................did he actually come on?
 
Van der Sar - 7 - Reliable, could do nothing with neither goal

Evra - 6 - A couple of good forward runs, but mostly bad short passes. Got better when Nani came on and he had a winger to pass to.
Vidic - 8 - Excellent
Ferdinand - 7 - Thought he could have done better on the first goal, by trying to block the cross. But in a situation like that, you've got to be wary of 45 degree passes as well, so can't really blame him.
Neville - 6 - He was good in the first half, and ok in the second. Forward he was really wasteful with his crosses, but his forward runs help create space for Valencia, who didn't really use it to any effect. Could've given away a penalty for a rash challenge in the box.

Giggs - 6 - 5 for first half, in which he gave the ball away a lot, 7 for the second where he helpted create some of our best chances. He always gives the ball away a fair bit, since he's usually the one trying to do the tricky things in the last third
Scholes - 5 - Wayward passing at times, but some really good ones out to Neville, who failed to exploit them. Could've been sent off
Fletcher - 6 - Invisible in the first half, but I liked him much better in the second half. Gave us some drive going forward during our best pressing period, and I was bemused when his number went up on the board and we brought on Mr. Cannon
Valencia - 5 - Failed to do anything of note. Corny and useless bendy-leggy challenge on Malouda for their first, 'the feck was that?
Park - 5.5 - Ran a lot, and pressed them well. Got no service, and his short passing was way off

Berbatov - 6 - Worked hard, but can't play up front alone in my opinion. He comes short, delivers the ball to the flanks and completely fails to get into the box. Ran into space where he should've come short, and came short when he should've gotten behind. Silly offside stumble thing for one of our freekicks, which could've (should'vewould've etc) been a good chance


Subs

Nani - 7.5 - Should have started. Looked very dangerous when he got the ball in a wide position
Macheda - 7 - Goal! A lucky one. But at least he was in the box!
Gibson - Pointless
 
Neville was as good as most of the rest of the team.

Reminds me of the treatment Giggs got every game in the 07/08 season.

People are seeing what the expect to see.
 
Van Der Sar - 6 - I was disappointed with him for Drogba's goal, which was really straight at him

Neville - 4 - terrible, attacked well in last 10 minutes, but was terrible
Ferdinand - 8 - excellent in my opinion, sometimes poor distribution
Vidic - 8 - strong
Evra - 7 - attacked well, defended poorly (positionally he is very poor sometimes)

Valencia - 5 - take on your fecking man, also when turning back turn your body so you can pass either way and pass before the defender gets in!
Scholes - 6 - was on the ball the whole time but was wasteful a lot
Fletcher - 6 - 4 for awful first half display, 8 for good second half display
Giggs - 5 - came into it but gave the ball way at an alarmingly consistent rate

Berbatov - 5 - did nothing much and wasted a golden opportunity when he was really needed

Subs:
Macheda - 6 - scored
Nani - 6 - set one up then was wasteful
Gibson - 10 - brilliant


Overall, I thought it was a dire first half performance. I don't blame the officials, we were too poor in the first half and didn't deserve to win. A much improved second half.
