Rasmus Højlund | Signed for United

When you see some all touch vids or specific match highlight vids it's clear hes very very raw and not near ready to lead our line.
There was a Danish football expert on Stretford Paddock saying the same thing.

Yeah and that's exactly why we need to sign an experienced striker as well

I don't think we're going to get nearly as much as that from sales. Some of them won't get sold and the others won't go for as much as you think

Of course we'd all like to sign Kane or Osimhen, but the reality is that we probably can't do that. Hojlund is a bit of a gamble but seems worth it, to me. The way he plays and his skillset is something we've been crying out for, even if he's raw and might not score a lot right away

I feel those sale prices are really fair and I’ve even skipped a few players like Telles, Williams, Donny, Bailly if we can’t raise 100m this summer we’ve failed massively yet again.

The prices being touted for Hojlund are just ridiculous to what he offers which is at the moment a squad option because If were going into the season with our hopes on a 20 year old who’s best season thus far is 10 goals then it will be a very long season ahead. I’ve seen numbers between 60-80m being touted….no chance I’m going anywhere near that.

I can understand both points of view because he needs gametime to keep improving, however I also feel we have to sign someone more experienced who can allow him that time to find his feet. The big question is who could be that player

It is mental how the price just inflates massively the second we are interested.

I believe the asking price was originally 60m euros, I think we'll get him for 50m euros

But it doesn't for city that actually have unlimited funds

Hence the charges I think. Lots of rumours that they pay the rest of the fees under the table. Clubs have no reason to just give them good players for low fees.

City will have top scouts and negotiators who will have watched the player for a long time, been in contact for months working out the best deal in time for the window and are extremely shrewd in what they do.

United have left everything upstairs to rot. We have a bunch of clowns will get down to the managers 3rd or 4th choice, draw out the negotiation over the sake of a few mil then press the panic button and pay over the odds late in the window, briefing the press about our every move as we go.

Clubs simply know how to play us. Ever since our dearly missed CEO decided to do an interview talking about how much money we’ve got. We’ve now got a reputation of overpaying so clubs will try and bleed us.

Haha £35 million, 50-60 million euros, 85 million...it's as if the journalist are making it up as they go along? I am shocked!

I've got to be honest and say this Højlund lad doesn't excite me in any of the clips I've seen. He's young and scored a handful of goals, but I don't see anything about his touch, movement, hold up or finishing that shouts out huge potential. £35m is a sizeable gamble (given we don't seem to have a lot of cash to splash right now) on someone that might not find his feet in the PL. But I could be wrong and he might soon be banging in 20+ goals in the league.

We really need to do what City did - sign a Haaland and an Alvarez in the same window.

Hojlund should be our Alvarez though, not our Haaland.

Where has £80m come from all of a sudden? I heard 40m euros the other day? Or was that the price before our name was involved?

I generally would yeah

We have around 120m budget plus sales right? selling Maguire (25m), Henderson (30m), Elanga (15m), McTominay (30m) will bring in around 100m or so.

220m budget id spend 130m on Osimhen, 60m on Costa, Rabiot (Free) leaving us 30m or so towards a defender maybe

Much better window than Rasmus and Mount we’ve filled 2 of our most needed positions with 2 of the best prospects in Europe.
Agreed. We’re ahead of where I thought we’d be with ETH but our main issue is evident for anyone who has watched football more than 1 minute. Goals.

We need elite tried and tested quality up front - stump up the money for Osimhen or Kane.

Only Mbappe could match with Haaland.

So let’s get Mbappe and Hojlund in the same window!

They are saying 50M-60M euros right?

That's around 42-50M pounds. Think we will table a bid around 40M pounds rising to 50M with add ons. That should get it done.

Some are saying that, others are saying 100m euros, and someone else is saying we’re scouting him at the Denmark game tonight so who knows at this point. Who even knows if TuttoAtalanta is legit

Still scouting when the window is open, jeez

I also don't hate the idea of a Taremi - Hojlund stack.

Taremi has 101 goals in all competitions in Portugal the last 4 seasons. He's 30, contract expires at the end of next season...

Has not looked out of his depth at all in the CL or the World Cup either.

Not even loosely linked to him

If the asking price is serious, might as well just fork out for Osimhen.

Given Hojlund is a huge Utd fan I'm sure we can convince him to kick up a fuss if needed.

£100m will be enough for either, let’s be serious not chairman is turning down £100m for Kane with 1 year or Osimhen if he’s pushing to leave. It’s probably a bad deal for us but there aren’t that many top strikers these days and we are desperate for one.
