No, PSG weren't prepared to go higher than their first bid which is roughly about his value that they bid.
 
Brilliant to get it over the line. Going down to the last few days is a mistake. We want to get a new striker bedded into the club. Absolutely crucial.

It's over the odds for sure but it's also who we've clearly identified as the stand out option and they've been willing to pay for that. In the long run we'll see.

horrible deal, shame ... for that money you add whatever extra it takes and go get Kane. As far as young prospects go, Hojlund is nothing special, we should have pursued Šeško instead, for that kind of money Leipzig would have sold him (not that either him or Hojlund are worth that sum though) :wenger:

Seriously we did. I don’t understand the jump from our first offer of around £50m including add ons to this in a couple of days. I was thinking it’ll get done for £55m plus add ons but boy I was wrong.
 
People can spin this as much as they want but spending 80 mil euros on striker who has one pro season behind him in which he scored only 9 league goals is absolutely mental.

It's laughable but what can you do? Ornstein reported it first i wasn't the only one who saw it and now for some reason it's gone. I blame aliens

Well he is better than Sesko for one and Levy point blank refused to sell Kane to us so just as well you were not involved in the transfer.
 
We overpaid for sure. I can only hope he does well. The players that do well, their fee gets ignored. Still I’m glad we finally have a young and hungry striker.

The Athletic literally posted an article a few weeks ago saying that Atalanta wanted €100m. Now it’s “they actually wanted €90m and you idiots paid €85m”. Bunch of wankers.
