Strange that we’ve left our biggest priority position to strengthen until last. I still think the Hojlund deal will get done but I’d have much preferred he had the chance to bed in during pre season first. The fact they’re saying we hope to have it done before the first game of the season indicates we’re prepared to drag this one out for a while yet but ideally it won’t come to that.
If this was the case (Rashford planned as CF) then the club should have also purchased a winger. I've been saying this all summer and will continue to do so. Even if MG returns that's 24 months of no football so I can't even see how Mount was seen as enough of a priority to cater to the larger weaker areas of the squad.

It’s a fluid front 3 anyway so starting positions shouldn’t matter all that much. He brings something different to the table. Would be a bizarre move to play Hojlund left wing. Especially when Rashford can be really underwhelming and passive when he plays centrally as striker. It makes more sense to just play both in their best positions.
