Rashford will beat Rooney's record

He might get 200, but nowhere near Rooney. He's just not proliferate enough. Hes played well for an handful of games and will this last?

Sorry, I don’t really want to take on the role of grammar cnut here, but I’ve got a feeling you might be confusing proliferate with prolific in this instance.
 
Even if he beats Rooney's record how many of us will think he was a better player than Rooney?
Of course if he beats it it will mean his level will go significantly up so by the time he beats it we might actually think he was better than Rooney but at this moment it is almost laughable to me to even compare him to a true artist.

Martial 82 goals in 273 - 0.30 gpg. Rashford 100 in 318 - 0.31 gpg.

Same record, but way more than half

I hope he does. It would be nice to have a an academy player hold the record.
 
Doubt it, but it's possible I suppose. Think he'd need to still be playing at a high level well into his 30s for it to happen

We won’t win much with an attacker that scores 150 goals in the next 7 or so years? That’s a minimum of 20 per year on average every single year.

In 2 years unless he develops significantly I think he might struggle for a regular place in our attack. Im not sure he plays 40+ games a season if United progress as we hope

Would love to see it and we can maybe already see an improvement with his heading. If he develops his finishing skills who knows.

Do you think he'd need to for us to win things? Rooney did that twice for us and we didn't win the league either of those seasons.

Now Rooney of course was a much better all-round player. Still, with the right players around him Rashford is good enough to feature in successful teams for me at least. Not as the star man in a front three, but good enough to play a role.

For Rashford to reach 20 pl goals, he needs to be the main man. I dont belive he will reach 20 if he is not the main man.

He is quite experiencd at this point and he has not one singel time reached 20.

I do not belive he would help our team the way Rooney did also. To me Rashford is a good player. Nothing more.

You also need consistency to win things. Rashford is not very consistent. He is consistent in beeing unconsistent.

How many times had he won the league? Or the top scorer?

So yeah i have my doubts at Rashford beeing our 20+ goal a season guy that helps us winning the big trophyes. I hope im wrong.
 
If he keeps it up, he will score plenty of goals under ETH, who definitely sees him as our main attacking outlet. We'll see how his partnership with Martial will develop when the latter returns to the side. Rashford likes to cut inside from a wide left position, and Martial has the tendency to start centrally and drift toward the left half-space. If Shaw retains his current form and with Eriksen in the side, ETH will definitely try to cook up something on the left wing. Neither the club nor Rashford really want to end their relationship, so he'll be banging goals for us for a while. But to beat Rooney's record, Rashford will eventually have to adjust his game. You can't always rely on sheer pace. His idol became the unbelievable goalscorer that he is (or was) because of his intelligent movement in the box and his ability to execute first-time, no matter how little time and space he had available.
 
I'm sure we'd all love to see it, just kidding, a lot of you would rather we scored no goals than Rashford score any. Paul Dacre, you gotta love him.

I agree that for him to score 20 in the league alone he'd need to be the main man. I'd also say that he's probably never going to be good enough to be the main man in a team that wants to collect trophies for fun.

I was more responding to the point of him us not being able to win much if he did end up as our all-time top scorer. For me he could be part of an attack in a successful team.

Drop him into an attack with players of the calibre of Kane and Son, Firmino and Salah of the past few seasons or a younger Rooney and Ronaldo and you've got yourself a scary forward line who could win a lot.

Do we have that level of player around him? No. Would he be the weakest of the three in such an attack? Yes. You could also say a lot of players could do it as well to be fair.

Two top class forwards plush Rashford could well be good enough is all I'm saying. He wouldn't need to hit 20 PL goals season after season, just get close to it in all competitions combined. It's not exactly simple or easy to achieve and hopefully Antony develops into one of those players for us.
 
rashford just doesn't display the sort of hunger for goals that rooney did. there's no way he'll outscore rooney but i'd be more than happy to be proven wrong.

To put my opinion in other words. I just dont want hes goal records to hurt the team.

It’s the opposite to nostalgia.

Rooney was an incredible player. Rashford is a good player verging into a player that may not ever fulfill potential.
 
I don’t know how this happened but I read the title as “Rasford will beat Rooney’s wife”
