@Castia redemption arc. I followed your conversation with some "everything is fine" folks

We have a real culture issues with the players and weak leaders in the team. I am sure if our current captain is from the past captains like keane, rooney etc, they will kick the shit out of rashy for doing that.
The worst part is these players don't even have the performances and achievements to give them any leeway for acting like that.

Even now there’s a few not having a bad word said about Rashford. To be fair the vast majority are sick of him though
Don't you know? He scored 30 goals once in last 4 years. World class

The last one dared mentioning about standard got scapegoated and called "the problem"

Well that was unprofessional. If this sort of behaviour has affected his form, I think it explains a lot. Time to read the riot act to him.

White text? Are you still in 2005? Mourinho is a horrible, toxic individual and just got sacked from Roma as part of his continued decline since Real. Imagine our manager waiting in the car park to abuse a referee - that is the level of class I want our club and manager to carry themselves with. Why does Mourinho have so many people across football still so enamoured with him when he is such a dour person nowadays.

I dont agree with the common narrative about him, but I am aware that his reputation is very poor nowadays, hence me saying it cannot happen.

What I was trying to say I guess is that it is becoming more and more evident that, apart from not being at the required level, the players also do not have the right attitude and it has been a case for a very long time.

If Sir Alex was still the manager what would he have done with this Rashford situation?

As if you lot haven't all called in sick after a big night.
A lot of us are not paid what he's paid for doing a job that requires him to be fit and healthy. You can still come to an office environment after a big night out with a hangover and do a decent job in front of the computer or whatever the shit the rest of us do.

I don't like him as a player but such things could happen. I don't see a big deal.
Seriously? He more than likely got no sleep/rest because he was in a club in another country Thursday night/Friday morning and was due in training only a few hours later and ended up going home sick from it right before our fa cup game this weekend and you don't think it's a big deal? It's massively unprofessional and just plain dumb.

I'd say Rooney played 1/5th of his career hungover
These modern players are wimps!!

Like I said, we should have sold him instead of giving him a new contract. Now we’re stuck with a mediocre player on high wages with a shit attitude.

Doesn‘t look good, he should be disciplined for this. Maybe some more time on the bench would do him good. Or, sell him.

While I don’t think ETH is the right man to get us back to the top he has done good with getting rid or punishing players with bad attitudes.
He really got done over last season my Marcus giving him a new contract thinking he had become a top player only to revert to type this season

Thank you for clarifying this matter.
- Not Rashford

P.S. I'm pretty sure the story is true as The Athletic would have very likely ran this story through our PR dept first.

I think that the club should learn from the Sancho mess. They should try and quiet this down and then they should try and sell him off in the summer. That would prevent his value from going mush. We can't have a senior homegrown player of all people acting like that. He'll be a bad influence towards the like of Mainoo who still gives a shit for the badge.

And he was finished by age 31. Players are far smarter these days. They employ their own fitness people who whisper in their ears what is good for them rather then what's good for the club. Thus if a player had a night out then they'll probably tell him to call sick next day rather then risk picking an injury that might cripple his career.

Remember his pre season interview with nev In Portugal. I thiught he'd kick on and become that consistent star He can be. Such a long way off that is

I doubt that's true. Do many players do this sort of thing?

Do you really believe that players don't have their own fitness people? Why do you think they feck off to Dubai whenever they pick an injury? Do you think its the club's idea to have them out of their premises? Players these days are more of a brand then actual footballers. Not all of them of course but we seem to have a lionshare of those

I'm sure some have their own fitness people. I'd question if many of them pull all-nighters and then call in sick to avoid training.

I think it’s time we let this guy go. I don’t drink personally and I’m not even close to a professional athlete. I run a business though and work basically 7 days a week so…

It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when someone is earning (given) 350k a week to look after his body and doesn’t even do that.

We’ll never win a whole lot with such players as the main men I’d argue. He’s a pace player into his late 20’s soon you need to just sell the guy and reinvest after 2 out of 3 awful seasons.
This is so true, i used to enjoy nigth outs but since i started my rehab clinic, im basically working 7 days a week. I stopped drinking and even if i get those rare time offs i spend time reading and advancing my skills. I spend most of my time thinking about self improvement and i can't imagine a successful athlete with that amount of pay has time to vape and drink especially mid season. Especially being a top man in a top club with that much of pressure and in 2-3 years of time his career gonna be over.
If im him, I'll kill myself in the training, lead by example, gets tough on the pitch and look to move on to bigger and a more current club. Strange man this guy. Get rid.

He’s been dealt a poor hand EtH, the bad news just keeps on coming.
Maybe he shouldn't have agreed to giving Rashford new contract with £350K/week just because Rashford had 6 good months after being horrible all 2022/2023 season. Maybe he shouldn't have agreed on signing Antony for £86m, while nobody will even pay half that if we wanted to sell him just 1.5 years later. Maybe he shouldn't have kicked De Gea out to sign a trainwreck like Onana for £43.9m.

Too many maybes. Sure, he was surrounded by morons and had to cosplay multiple roles in addition to being an actual manager, but he was part of many feck-ups. He doesn't get to blame shit we are in entirely on others

I doubt he was in charge of what fees and wages were paid. We've been awful at that for a decade.

Players employ their own fitness people to safeguard their own interest. We all remember the treble winning side and the spectacular CL final. Yet few forget that we played an injured Blomqvist in that game. It all went downhill for him after that. That would never happen to the likes of Pogba or Rashy in today's football

However there's a bad side to that as well. The personal fitness people have zero loyalty towards the club. Therefore if players want the cake and eat it (ex enjoying life, prolong their career etc) then their own fitness team will adapt to that even to the expense of the club. Thus you start hearing about how tough the manager's training is, how repetitive it is and the fact that they have to leave training when its dark. You'll also find players like Pogba who would use every excuse to feck off to Dubai.

That's why its of paramount importance that

a- United make a deep analysis of the player's character before signing them up
b- they get rid of the rotten apple before they rot good apples with their bad behaviour

There are also players who only care of ££££. You'll notice them scoring piles of goals when their heading towards the end of their contract only to return to their jogging form once the contract is signed. If they don't get a contract then they'll vanish in the treatment room to make sure they won't pick any injuries.

This only happens at United.

So we are the outlier. Not the personal fitness pulling shits

It happens at other clubs as well. Pogba for example still fecks of to Dubai whenever he catches a flu.

We seem to have a knack in hoarding these sort of players though. I think its down to bad recruitment and low standards. I mean how many clubs would let a ridiculously injury prone player to stay for 13 years only to have him back as a youth coach? Who on earth end up signing a player who left on a free and who had previously shown bad attitude on a record fee only to return to that club on a free? We did the same with Sancho btw as well! What message does that gives to the team and the players out there? I think people out there think that we're a bunch of idiots. I can't really blame them for it.

If they don't treasure their place to play for united, they shouldn't be playing at all.

Tell that to Pogba, Martial, Lingard etc all finished and washed up long before age 30. And Rashford will be the same

Apart from Martial (whom I think is genuinely injury prone), the rest is down to attitude.

Just get rid of this guy before Garnacho thinks he can do the same kind of bs.

Yes we need a McGrath moment at this point. We need to take a key player with bad attitude and we need to usher him out of the club. The rest will then realise that the time of player power is over and that no one is really safe at this club.

Out of maybe around 50 players he knows over the years from England NT and United he seems to be close with the wrong uns. Lingard and Sancho. And their behaviors are the same too. I wonder why.
