Glad I was in the 14% that had some football and business sense.
At the time of the poll keeping him literally made zero football or business sense.

Glad he's back on some decent form too. It just would have been pointless to sell him when his stock had no value.

Yeh I agree. His performances haven't warranted a new contract so just sell him and move on. We'll do well if we can sign a winger that can score more than Rashfords record of 11 in a season excluding penalties.
Still amazes me how people viewed Rashfords dip in form.
He was in very good form for most of 20/21, fell away in the last third but we know he was carrying a pretty debliatating injury an injury that required major surgery and a fairly long lay off to resolve.
Surgery that was delayed by his desire to play in what was essentially a home international tournament. Where his only contribution was to miss a penalty in the shoot out in the final. He then went ahead and had the major surgery and didn't return to play until October 2021 just as the wheels were coming off at the end of Ole's reign.
He got back toward full fitness while playing for one of the worst managers in the clubs history, playing in a united side playing some of the worst football iv seen from a united side in and out of the team playing in different posistions in different formations, playing in a team where noone played well, not one player came out of the rangnick reign with any real credit.
His '18 months of poor form is more like 6 months carrying an injury, 3 months where he was injured and 3 months where he was playing at an international tournament and the close season.
So really it was more like 6 months of poor form,. Playing in the worst, most toxic side of recent history under an awful manager while trying to come back from major surgery.
Same could be said about recency bias regarding his current form.Depends on how much one is affected by recency bias or be objective.
Is it recency bias when it’s been one bad season out of four? (If he finishes this season well)Same could be said about recency bias regarding his current form.

Nope, sustaining / improving for the rest of this year will basically negate his 18 months of drek in my mind.Is it recency bias when it’s been one bad season out of four? (If he finishes this season well)
Unfortunately I can see us cock up this Januaru window & not securing a striker to compete with Martial. We don't need Rashford leading the line as that goes a ways to limiting his attributes.Good point but atleast after extending his deal by a year, as a club were now in a better place to decide whether to keep or sell in the summer.
Rashford is doing well under Ten Hag but for all we know Gakpo could've been his replacement. It's not as though Ten Hag isn't ruthless enough to make that call.
The club look like they let him down by allowing him to slip off to Anfield instead.
See who Ten Hag can conjure up for January/Summer.
Maybe these people shouldn't have written him off after 1 bad season and the circumstances around it;
Coming off a long term injury and then surgery with no pre-season
Coming off being blamed for England's defeat in the Euro final
Being managed by a genuine PE teacher in Rangnick where no one thrived and Rashford himself barely even played
Ah but I guess your argument now is 1 season is more than enough time to write someone off
Plus we're all Tories. He's been on very good form this season. Long may it continue.
I'm not surprised with the poll result what with the anti-English bias on here.

Mate, never underestimate the ability of folks in this place to engage in a bit of moral one upmanship. It's absolutely rife! Let them have their little imaginary internet points I say, god knows they obviously need them the sad fecks.I don't know why there is so much revisionism and people being shocked at the poll. This season he looks a lot better, but with what we received the past 2 seasons the poll is completely reasonable. And the same goes for Martial. Poll this season would be mixed or positive while a poll anytime last season would be near unanimous for him to be replaced.
At the time there were obvious huge problems that made both football and business sense to resolve before concluding any one player was at fault. But some fans chose instead to blame players for 'not wanting it enough' and other ridiculous Roy Keane vintage banalities. A crap coach and a transfer policy run by a marketing spreadsheet were the problems if you had eyes to see it. 85% didn't.
Glad I was in the 85% that were right.
Let's see if the rash PR comes out againBenched for disciplinary reasons. A few good games and it has gone to his head again. We need to be very careful before dishing out a long term contract.
Not the sharpest are you. It was an obvious joke. You’re absolutely shameless

He was poor for 18 months and didn’t look arsed to boot. I am ecstatic he seems to have sorted himself out. But this is pure hindsight on your part as well as others in this thread.
We don't know what he's done, no point in trying to guess. Could be as simple as missing a meeting or arriving late, we know how meticulous ETH is.Suprising given the image he has built for himself. Didn't have him down to be selfish and egotistical after a few good performances. Shame.

That's such a lame excuse. Players are accountable for their own performances and attitude. Rash for rd deserved criticism at the timeNo it was good judgement. He was poor because the club was poor. It's not hindsight if you say it at the time
