He’s black Colin.
He’s black Colin.
How's he done at the Euros?
Martin Ødegaard on Noggy TV yesterday gave Varane, as a person, fantastic reviews. Ole does care about stuff like that.
Google translate:
As a guest in TV 2's studio, he was asked about his teammates and ex-teammates who play in the European Championships.
Raphael Varane came to Real Madrid in a somewhat similar situation to Ødegaard. France's stopper star was only 18 years old.
- He is an incredibly nice guy. He is perhaps the one who received me warmest in Madrid, says Ødegaard.
- He is a calm and relaxed guy, who helped me a lot in the beginning. He came to Madrid when he was very young too, so he knew a little what it would mean to get there like that. A very kind and good type, praises the Norwegian.
He gains nothing by sounding desperate for Varane to stay. The more desperate he sounds, the more Varane's agent is likely to demand.Perez's quote def not along the normal lines of “we want the player to stay and negotiations are continuing” is it. I’m starting to feel as though this one might actually happen.

Nothing revolutionary:
Update from Spain on Varane + Perez's comments
Perez on Varane: " I have not spoken with the player and I don’t know what he wants."
On June 24th, AS reported Real Madrid ‘await with open arms’ for Manchester United to make an approach for Raphaël Varane.
The defender will enter his final year of contract next month and AS stated the La Liga side are unable to meet the high economic demands requested by his agent to sign an extension.
Without a renewal, Los Blancos have plans to make the 28-year-old available in the market and this is again mentioned by ABC on Friday.
The newspaper provides a short update and explains the centre-back ‘has offers’ from Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG are believed to be frontrunners to sign Sergio Ramos on a free transfer and Mauricio Pochettino reportedly has a desire of reuniting the Spaniard with the France international at Parc des Princes next season. That feels somewhat far fetched.
Varane is currently with his national team, preparing for France’s upcoming Euro 2020 clash against Switzerland.
The player is handling offers from Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG, but it’s not clear what his plans are for the future. Even Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is also unsure what the former Lens man will do next.
“I read news in papers and I don’t know anything. He is at the European championship and we will deal with renewals later. I have not spoken with the player and I don’t know what he wants. If he wants to leave, he will say so. And if he wants to stay, he will say so,” Pérez said about Varane during an interview with Onda Cero.

Not if the ESL is anything to go by, he came across as a senile cabbage. We'll Perez is as smart as they come, he's playing it cool as expected, i do feel this would move quickly once Varane makes it clear he's done at Madrid, thanks for the responds.

Football exclusive: MADRID STAR DREAMS OF PLAYING FOR UNITED
Real Madrid defender, Varane, has declared his dream for playing for Manchester United in an exclusive interview with a local radio station. The news will come as a pleasant surprise to the Europa League runners up amidst uncertainty about Eric Bailly's future. It is said that the hierarchy at United see Varane as the only replacement for Eric Bailly.
Speaking from France's Euro 2020 camp, Varane revealed, "I love Madrid. I've had a great time there, won the Champions League and some great memories. But football is all about challenges and I feel I'm ready for a new one."
After Madrid's failure to win this year's La Liga Santander title, many pundits felt this was Varane's chance to move on.
"I'm young and at the peak of my football and want to play at the biggest level. The Premier League is the best league in the world and it'd be fantastic to be a part of that. And obviously Manchester is the best place to be at right now. They are in the Champions League, so it's fantastic no? And when I played there a number of years ago, I believe with [Sir Alex] Ferguson as manager, it was a great atmosphere." Varane added
The opportunity to play with the stars at United is an added attraction. "United have some great players. [Bruno] Fernandes and [Marcus] Rashford are fantastic. Then there's Cavani. And also Pogba who is a good friend of mine."
And when asked if he'd like to play at United his answer was straightforward, "Yes, how can anyone say no? They are a giant club. It will be a dream come true."
This news will no doubt shock Carlo Ancelotti who has just recently rejoined Los Blancos. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will no doubt sleep easier tonight, knowing that should Eric Bailly leave there's another eager to take his place.
VarON? Not often you hear such direct comments about a transfer so there must be something in it.
That sounds like a done diddeli dealio if true... And I doubt that's a made up story. What the hell is happening, are we actually getting two of our top targets?

It does seem that way, but surely it can't actually happen!
When was the last summer we bought the two players we wanted the most?
Varane and Sancho make us a viable contender for the league imo.
Pretty sure it's based on the Kaka classic thread. Are those quotes genuine?

I’m going to wank all the skin off my dick if we sign Sancho and Varane and I’ll see that there’s no tissue whatsoever left if we sign a defensive midfielder too.

You're in for a treat mate.
If we can sign Sacho and Varane then raise funds for CDM by selling, it could be the perfect summer.
Unfortunately, from previous experience I cannot take a Real Madrid CB saying he wants to leave, a new contract will be on the table and we will be left with looking around for a CB.
