He's coming for a big salary, nothing else. Steer clear.
Thats what Utd have briefed journalists as the plan for the summer.Fair play to the optimism shown here in getting a £300k p/w CB in as well as Sancho a FB and possibly a midfielder!
Strong starting 11 but in terms of good squad, we are a couple of seasons away when we slowly add more but more critically, our academy kids mature. Then we are at City's level but grown organically. We’d genuinely have a frighteningly good squad. There’s zero talk of outgoings though and we’d need to sell well to get a DM too.
What did they brief journalists last summer?Thats what Utd have briefed journalists as the plan for the summer.
Varane, Sancho and a DM would be an exceptional summer.
We’ll drag out the Sancho deal until the last week. Watch varane join PSG and sign some young guy nobody has heard from.
nailed on.
In recent years, Di Maria has been exceptional for P$G, Hakimi has been great for Dortmund and Inter and Ronaldo has been the top scorer in Italy. All on high wages after leavingHas anyone ever left Madrid and justified their massive salary? I'm not saying he's a bad player or that he's looking for a pay day but it's hard to trust the motivations of someone who's won everything and would be joining United to hopefully win something in the next 3 years
That makes zero fecking senseIf we could definitely get Varane for £ 70 million this year or maybe, possibly get him for free next season when ALL the top clubs will be sniffing around him then we should pay the money now.
His contract expiry next year is a red herring.
Is he a massive upgrade on what we have now? Yes.
and a backup keeper if we sell DDG or HendersonAbsolutely.
The moany old git in me would still say we won't win anything without Right back cover though.
Pogba will go to PSG. He can be lazy most weeks and turn it on for CL. Perfect for him.Potential Pogba-Varane swap deal? Both players in the same situation in terms of having a year left on their contracts.
You'd hope both clubs would see sense and do this deal.Potential Pogba-Varane swap deal? Both players in the same situation in terms of having a year left on their contracts.
It's a perfect deal because it saves us face from losing Pogba for cheap or for free and we get our number 1 CB target in return without spending. Instead focus the money on a midfielder that balances the squad which Pogba doesn'tPotential Pogba-Varane swap deal? If Madrid aren't willing to pay the salary Varane wants, I doubt they'd pay Pogba's desired salary either.Potential Pogba-Varane swap deal? Both players in the same situation in terms of having a year left on their contracts.
And you believe anything that comes out of the club?Thats what Utd have briefed journalists as the plan for the summer.
They pulled down our briefs last summerWhat did they brief journalists last summer?
Foden looks much happier with James supporting him on the right than with Walker.
FfsVarane likes that.
I think the issue is more complicated than that. From what i read the issue started with Bayern refused Alaba's salary demand and he left for free for big salary with real madrid. It is reported that Bayern offered €16m p.a. gross and Real Madrid offered €25m p.a. gross, or £412k per week in PL terms. This upsets Varane who is the same age and the similar class of player. So now Varane is doing a "Alaba" to Real Madrid, asking for the same salary or leave for free. Bayern refused to buckle to keep the wage structure. Do you want to sign a player for free on huge salary but then upset your dressing room? Remember Sanchez? If we could definitely get Varane for £ 70 million this year or maybe, possibly get him for free next season when ALL the top clubs will be sniffing around him then we should pay the money now.

Pogba generates more revenue, so they just might. If Madrid aren't willing to pay the salary Varane wants, I doubt they'd pay Pogba's desired salary either.
Varane likes that.
How? We didn't sign him for £108m last summer because it was too much, this summer it could be £80m? How is that over paying for one of the best talents?
I’ll say it now... ZERO chance we get Sancho, a top quality Cb, a quality midfielder and a RB. We will get sancho, a £40m CB and a rb. Pogba goes on a free, so by next year we will be worse off.
Agree, be a mercenary like Sanchez and ADMHe's coming for a big salary, nothing else. Steer clear.
Tbf he does have this in his locker. You take the highs with the lows if you buy VaraneI suppose he’s no good now?
And then he signs for you and you watch him more often and you realise he’s absolute quality. One of those players you "think" is a great player as he plays for Madrid and has this huge rep, but every time you watch him makes a major howler.
A straight swap for Dan James should be enough now.Price has just plummeted
Signing a new contract a Madrid isnt he ?
