So is that confirmed that they're asking 50m? I've been reading we are agreeing contract terms then starting fee negotiation.
We paid £24m for Van Persie nearly a decade ago and won the title under similar circumstances. Given the rise of transfer fees as well as the status of Varane, it is hardly a ridiculous transfer fee.
A fantastic acquisition, should this come to pass. Club management just might be serious, after almost a decade, about putting a PL contender on the pitch.
Ideally he would come cheaper but even 50 million is a an price for that kind of a player. Acquisition like that pays in dividends later.

Phil Jones has made 224 appearances for the club and is one of the few remaining PL winners we have. It is punching down because the guy has been going through an injury nightmare for the last 18 months and you think it is funny to take shots and make up crap when he is at a low point. Be a better person than that.
