I agree with you in principle, I personally don't see Jones ever becoming top drawer and I'd love to bring in Varane or Stones along with Otamendi to make up our CB 4 with Smalling and Rojo. Unfortunately I imagine we will soon hand Jones a 4 year extension and that will be that.

Additions like Varane / Stones & Otamendi would be so sweet - we'd be set for seasons beyond & never have to worry about CB.

I can never see Jones being the top-class player Fergie thought he would be & at a price of £17m or something - we got screwed big time. Whenever i see Jones' name on the teamsheet - the panic sets in.

I'd keep Jones, but he's never in a country-mile a 1st-team starter for a club of our aspirations. There's still plenty of question marks over Smalling too & not to mention his injury record, as i keep goin on about. Sorry about that, but its a massive issue if we cant rely on players to be fit & the replacements are piss-poor too..

Without a doubt mate, I think I'd rather go with an extra CB than worry about a RB given how average the options are, hell maybe Jones can fill in there where his brain isn't needed as much.

I agree with you on the injuries, and even Rojo missed a good chunk of last season with injuries, maybe that's something in house as opposed to the personnel though, we just got rid of our injury prevention guy as clearly he wasn't preventing much.

Its so funny, since he wasn't even at United long, I hope we have identified a solution

That's so true man, but i'd prefer not to see him start a game for us at all, which would mean we have CB & RB positions sorted - something i can only dream about tbh.

I was just reading there about yer man Radcliffe - the injury prevention feller leaving the club ("personal reasons" or some shit) & he's had legal advice in the process also. The plot thickens with that one man, but its pretty obvious that LvG has not been a happy chappy with our medical team all season.

We should get some Voodoo doctor in & feck modern science :D

Oh I was thinking of Jones as Valencia's RB cover, yes the options are so thin I am actually leaning in that direction. :(

I don't see what the guy could possibly have to complain about, never has someone failed so spectacularly to deliver on their job description.

We should get Robbo, Keane and Nelly & Dolly to come and have a word with them about toughening up, modern athletes? pfft!

I know man - like wtf has he to complain about - he's obviously shit at his job?!

Its like the clown from "IT" situation ffs. Clowns are supposed to be entertaining - not that scary fecker though. Shit at his job to say the least!

As much as it really pains me to say it - John Terry shows up so many modern players - especially ours. That prick gets injured, but plays through the pain barrier all the time. He's wants to play all the time regardless of being injured.

We dont seem to have that, or we had a injury-prevention officer that wanted to wrap our players in cotton-wool the whole time & held off their recovery & training etc.

Terry didn't cost them anything, but in a way he is priceless to them. Clubs are so scared of losing an expensive player for a long stretch, that the slightest little niggle gets treated like a major disaster. No wonder players get soft and won't play unless they are 100% fit. As you say Terry is a knob, but he puts everything into playing for Chelsea. An old fashioned defender who plays through anything and isn't scared of putting his body on the line.

Man I'm glad I am old enough to get that IT reference. :D Classic, if a bit dated, King adaption.

Terry seems like the last of a dying breed, I mean I think Otamendi will be a good buy for us if it happens but when I have seen him for Valencia I have actually seen him play acting like Neymar, it's just not cricket from a CB, at least not the ones I grew up on.
