Rank the next five fixtures in order of importance.

I genuinely think we’re sneaking into a title race so I’m saying PL games are priority to be honest.
FA cup is lowest, then Barca, than Carabao

Don't lose track of the fact we will be two games behind Arsenal when kicking off at Anfield and most likely 14 pts adrift

1. Newcastle
2. Barcelona
3. Liverpool
4. Leicester
5. West Ham

If Arsenal had dropped points today then would have moved Barca fixture to 4th. But still seems an outside chance of anything in the league

Lucky feckers today, that's probably the order I would go for as well

Leicester

Next match is always the most important. Focus on that only. Don't get complacent.
This. Don't even know how this is a question. One match at a time and beat what's in front of you.

Don’t overthink things. The next match is always the most important one, whatever it is. Crowded fixture lists are the price of success.

With City dropping 2 pts yesterday we’ve got a chance to get right i to the title race, 100% strongest, fit team for every match.

Correction a chance to close gap on second which is something, however I'm greedy and wanted to get closer to both today but alas not this time.

We aren't winning the league.

1. Newcastle
2. Barcelona
3. Liverpool
4. West Ham
5. Leicester

Just want us to keep top two honest, however that looks impossible when we will two games behind after tomorrow

I don't believe we have any chance of winning the league. In a 'normal' season, I would have more hope. The squad doesn't have enough recovery time between games. We've been playing every 3/4 days for almost 3 months, and it's going to continue for at least another month.

Newcastle - EFL Cup Final
Barcelona - Europa League
Liverpool - Premier League
West Ham - FA Cup
Leicester - Premier League

We aren't winning the league.

It's a long shot but we might, there's a long way to go and neither of the teams above us is in particularly good form. One game at a time and see where we get to, We chased down bigger leads than this before under Sir Alex. first order of business is beating Leicester, so that's our most important game for now.

The next five fixtures are:

1) Leicester - Premier League
2) Barcelona - Europa League
3) Newcastle - EFL Cup Final
4) West Ham - FA Cup
5) Liverpool - Premier League

A tough run and players will need a rest at some point. So curious as to which of those fixtures you would prioritise if you had to?

Feck missed this when I started my thread. Dunno about importance but in order of how much I want to win them:

1. Liverpool
.
.
.
.
.
.
2. Leicester
3. Newcastle
4. West Ham
.
.

5. Barca

The next five fixtures are:

1) Leicester - Premier League
2) Barcelona - Europa League
3) Newcastle - EFL Cup Final
4) West Ham - FA Cup
5) Liverpool - Premier League

This. This is the ranking. The next game is always the most important.

"Treat them as they come" is the dumbest answer. Just because it's a cliché it doesn't mean it's true.

Players have to think like that, because they need to perform in the next game and that requires focusing on what's at hand. But fans don't, we are able to recognise a cup final is more important than a league game, or that beating Liverpool means more than beating Leicester.

Similarly managers can't think like that, as they have to actually have a plan as to when they'll rest players over coming fixtures.

Ideally we win all 5 games.

But if we could only win 4 games or 3 games or 2 games...

We've seen teams overtaken to win leagues before. The difference is we have 2 teams with legit title aspirations. Us having a chance requires both of them slipping. And to make matters worse, we have played both of them twice. So their slips are out of our hands.

Has there ever been a PL club who from 3rd place overtook both contenders to win the league?

By Caf logic, 2nd means nothing (normally I vehemently disagree, but I took a solemn vow to not be a contrarian bastard for a few days, so there you go). I think us winning the Carling Cup and the Europa League (and maybe the FA Cup) make for a more successful season than finishing 2nd with only the Carling Cup. If we won the league... But I rate our chances low (given our squad strength (Weghorst??), improbability of both City/Arsenal losing that much form) to the extent I'd rather focus on the more probable outcomes.

No wrong answers on this one though...

Barcelona is far more important than some people are claiming, to beat the best team in Spain would be quite the statement. We’ll get top 4 anyway, we are 7 points ahead of 5th, and a title run is unlikely. It’s Barca and Newcastle that are more important.

Newcastle
Leicester
Liverpool
Barcelona
West Ham

I'd say Leicester is very important because we haven't shown that we can play a solid game of football without Casemiro yet. We luckily turned it around against Leeds, but we weren't good. We need these three points at home to move further ahead of Newcastle and hopefully Spurs. The final is obviously the most important game for now but I value our league performances more than the other remaining competitions.

Well IF we win today gap is back to 5 pts but they win their next 3 games and gap is 14 pts
Yeah I guess a loss today would really kill any title hope. I can see Arsenal more dropping points, without Partey they look much more vulnerable.

1) Newcastle - EFL Cup Final!
2) Liverpool - Premier League
3) Leicester - Premier League
4) Barcelona - Europa League (always exciting but we are already running on fumes and we don't need Europa this year)
5) West Ham - FA Cup

We just need Top 4 + Trophy this year. Don't need to overextend ourselves. Top 4 means we can spend more next summer.

They do look vulnerable but we need Leicester to find that version which beat Spurs, already wrote off Everton & Bournemouth at Emirates.

1. Newcastle (one game, it's important to win a trophy again, even this one)
1.1 Liverpool
3.Leicester
4. Barca
5. West Ham

Go all in on Barcelona and then Newcastle. Lose Barcelona we might lose against New castle as well. If we win against Barcelona, momentum might help us in winning next match.
If we win our next two , dont care about next two.

Beat Liverpool at all costs! Can’t have them 5 points behind us threatening to finish ahead of us in a season we’ve bantered them all year!

I’m probably in the minority but I’d much rather win the FA Cup than with the Europa.

If we go out to Barcelona then so be it. They’re a good side. Winning it means sod all in as much as we’ll be playing Champions League football next season regardless.

Let’s go for both domestic cups.

1. Barcelona. I fukn hate Barcelona.
2. Newcastle. Any trophy is a good trophy and they'll be playing with effectively no keeper.
3. Liverpool. I fukn hate Liverpool.
4. West Ham. We easily have capacity for a decent cup run.
5. Leicester. Shouldn't be a problem to beat Leicester.

I can see them getting a point vs Arsenal - they were actually pretty good today and should really have gone 1 or 2 up. Reckon that and Everton game have a banana skin in there for them.

One down, 4 to go.

Win against Barcelona would lift our spirits that a win on Wembley would be almost guaranteed.

And a win in a cup final would lift us that a win on Anfield would be certain.

And a win against Liverpool would lift us......you get the drift.

Newcastle for sure. Winning a trophy would be huge for the team this year. Win the Carabao, comfortably qualify for Champions League, invest in the squad post-takeover and then go into next season ready to take it to a City side who look badly in need of a shake-up

It’s literally bonkers how some people think - you wouldn’t even believe it was a reality unless you visited this thread.

If you ranked beating Leicester above beating Liverpool then you really need to have a look in the mirror.

Same. But that performance at Camp Nou made me excited about 2nd leg.

I think given Fa Cup game is between Carabao Cup final and Anfield trip we'll rotate more than ten Hag usually does and that could give West Ham chance.

The main benefit of winning it is pot 1

Everton are different side away from home, only need to look at merseyside derby for that

Now that Leicester are out the way…

1. Newcastle. It’d be great to win the first available trophy we’ve had a chance at under Ten Hag.
2. Barcelona. I’d fancy us against anyone in this if we get past Barca. If we win Europa we’d also be pot 1 in CL. It’s better than top 4.
3. Liverpool. I don’t think we’ll win the league, but I think it’s vital to finish as close as possible.
4. West Ham. We might need too rest some, with the FA Cup being now the lowest priority.

Ended up with four wins from five in the end.

Shame we lost to Liverpool rather than Leicester but otherwise pretty damn good. And that was our hardest remaining run of fixtures this season.

No it wasn't because still got to face Newcastle, Spurs, Brighton away then Chelsea at home. Honestly we could lose all of them looking at today which might seem harsh to say.
