Random Suggestions

Nothing autoplaying for me on latest Chrome update and iOS 11

Just guessing here but are you using any add-ons/extensions in Chrome? Try turning them off temporarily and see if that makes a difference.

You're right. Just checked, adblock is the culprit :nervous:

@Niall this could be a crap idea, but always wondered if we could possibly incorporate a "live score" feature (maybe from an RSS feed or some such addon) in the general football threads which keep track of the weekend's fixtures. A kind of FlashScore device of rolling updates running across the top of the thread, or inserted as commentary posts.

Why are so many polls results viewable only after voting? Is it to avoid results influencing voting?

Quite a few times I have no opinion on the poll subject, but am so curious to see the answer that I end up voting something random just to see the result, and I'm sure I've done it a few times. I really don't know whether I want Ozil at United or not, that's probably the most neutral question you could ever ask me, but I'm still dead curious about the fans answers and not on the mood to wait two weeks until the poll closes.

Is this worse (a meaningless vote) than having your vote biased by previous opinions? Maybe not, just a thought. Perhaps if there was a way to see the poll results, but that it would disallow you form voting if you hadn't done so yet.

BIB1: Yes.
BIB2: Nice idea. @Niall

There's are "Allow the results to be viewed without voting" and "Display votes publicly" options when creating a poll. typically enable both but other modmins who create polls may not and it's at their discretion really. But by all means ask for a change to the poll in those threads and a modmin can decide.

Disallowing voting after viewing the results would require a custom add-on and it's not that important a feature imo so not something I'll be doing.

Late to respond to this but that's certainly possible. I'm currently working on porting the Match Day features to work with XenForo 2 which will be released in the next few months. Once that's done I'll revisit this feature.

On another Spurs forum I frequent there is a very handy “floating button” at the bottom right of the screen with an up arrow a den down arrow. Click the up arrow it takes you right to the top of the page, hit the down arrow it takes you right to the bottom of the page. It’s very handy on a tablet or phone, I don’t know how easy it is to implement though.

What about a semi-auto refresh, like Reddit has (is it just with RES?)? Scroll to the top and a bit more and it refreshes the forum/alerts? Would be cool if it did it at the bottom of threads as well actually. If it is RES that does that, which I assume it is thinking about it, would it be that difficult to create a simple Chrome app for that?

Edit: Immediately thought there must be a global app for this already. There is of course. You can apparently add specific sites to it, so that's good. Gonna try it now.

Edit2: Nowhere near as good as I described and interrupts you writing a post, so no good.

the SFW doesn't need a storyline, it's just a harmless beauty appreciation thread.

If you don't like it, just move on. No need to be a Nazi about it.
Ok this convo has served it's purpose and is now very much derailed.

Thanks for your feedback everyone.

Close Shutters.

Well to be fair it is not at all safe for work and there is a rule against partial nudity, and there’s about 5 million places on the internet to look at ladies in skimpy clothes.

What's partial nudity? showing the belly bottom? (because i don't remember seeing tits or vaginas)

Anyway, that's why you have moderators, to moderate and regulate... Otherwise, lets just close the whole CAF, plenty of embarrassing threads/posts around.

Yeah we know and we decided the best way to moderate it was to sack it off because we honestly have better things to do than sift through a thread like that when you can go anywhere on the internet and see that stuff.

Anyway don’t give me ideas about closing everything otherwise I might go full RAWK, close everything and ban everyone next time we lose to make me feel better :D

Why you taking such a tone over some page 3 girls?

Fire up google and search all the ladies you want to fill your boots fella, why do you need an embarrassing thread to ogle over?

To be fair that's a terrible excuse (something Trump would say). Almost everything the caf offers, you can find in other place. I personally like to get sorted here. (astronomy, politics, religion, sexy girls...)

ps. I offer myself to moderate that thread if time is the real issue.

Seriously, i don't even care that much about the content of the thread itself, it's the way it was closed. The randomness of it all... i would have jump to defend any thread closed for no reason, specially if no rules were broken.

It was discussed a fair bit in the mod forum before it was closed. (@Snowjoe told me) Niall doesn't have to consult anyone tbh on whether he finds a thread suitable or not, and the thread started out sfw, then went completely nsfw. I suppose he was just safeguarding everybody on the caf from the next progression of the thread.

I really like the player rating stuff on this forum.

It would be nice if the system could also include the manager. Give him a score out of ten for each match as you do with the players. Wonder what his average would be for this season.

Couple of years later, but I agree with this suggestion. Be good to be able to rate the manager's tactical set-up, selection, substitutions etc.

I know this is very lazy, seeing as I can just pop into the Match Day area to see it, or check the calendar on my phone, or one of the many other easy was to check fixtures.

But a couple of times recently, I've used the Caf to check what day/time the next match is on. Today for example, I remembered suddenly there are midweek games and wanted to check if it was tonight or tomorrow night and at what time.

Is there any chance we could get the next match feature put up alongside the score prediction and lineup prediction sections on the front page? Something like:

Good suggestion, I do the same thing

Yes good point. There is a "Starting soon" box that appears for the next match on the day of the fixture, but something more permanent would be good.

I may merge those 3 match boxes in your image into one "Next Match" box - it would have the fixture details, your score prediction form and and lineup prediction link. Might look neater.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Whenever I press the ‘view score predictions table’ shown below

It has been like that for as long as I can remember. I’m not sure if it’s only on my phone or on my computer too. I’ve got the latest iOS and using Safari.

Yep that's a bug I hadn't spotted before @Macern. Thanks for pointing it out, will get it fixed.

@Niall

No harm meant, just thought it was interesting that you can see other posters warnings now. Might make people think twice before posting shite :) :nervous:

Cheers, that thread was starting to get on my nerves with all the back and forth so your post was the straw that broke the camels back. No harm done at all :)
