It doesn’t matter if Muani is 5 years older than Hojlund, we should be judging them based on current abilities because we’re trying to find ourself short term solution from any loan deal to improve the performance of our season. Hojlund general play doesn’t offer anything to the team, while his non general play such as scoring goals and positioning inside the box are currently part of the issues as well.
The only proof is their fbref stats showing Muani offers much better general play than this current Hojlund. This current Hojlund can’t create chances, can’t get past players, and struggling to even receive passes. Muani offers far better quality in those three aspects including his defensive contribution than Hojlund.
I was being facetious because the notion that Weghorst and Ighalo playing for us previously has any relevance whatsoever to Kuani’s suitability as a transfer target is completely nonsensical.
We need numbers. Putting aside the matter of quality, which we also need, in terms of attackers right now we have Rashford, Garnacho, Amad, Zirkzee and Hojlund. We are even thinner if Rashford goes.

Why does anybody think we'd be looking to buy him? Almost all reports of our interest seem to indicate it'd be a loan only, which makes sense in terms of just giving us numbers in attack if Rashford is heading out the door.
I'm not interested in us signing players for "numbers". We need to sign players because we deem them to be good enough.
I have never thought this guy is that good. I see him being a real blocker in the squad should a great talent become available in a year or two.
We need a world class number 9. I don't think he is that at all.
Hopefully its only a loan if it happens. He's much in demand so there's plenty of options for him. Especially clubs who can offer CL football.

Might it be that United is talking a great deal on PSR so that other teams and potential signings stop taking the micky out of them for salaries?
Clubs saying 'we'd like Rashford for 10% of his salary' or 'you pay 300K a week for Kolo Muani, who we don't want anyway' might have a different stance on this when they know United will walk away otherwise.

A loan deal would be great, United definitely need other options up front because we simply aren't scoring enough. Even if Muani could hold up the ball a bit better than Højland he'd be an improvement.

How many top goals scorers and world class number 9's are there? How many of those can we afford the transfer fee and/or wages off? How many of those are willing to come to the number 13 of the Premier League?

No Armani no Muani
We are not in a much better position now compared to when Sir Alex picked up the train wreck of united. He still went and bought the top goal scorers within 12 months.
Can’t afford to get it wrong with our next ST. I’d rather we just splashed the cash on either Gyokeres or Isak. Someone that’s a proven goalscorer
Unless Isak deliberately runs his contract down we've no chance of finding the funds for him. Gone are the days we can cherry pick top PL talent.
His stock has fallen in Paris, but I thought he had real potential a couple of years ago. I’ve said before, but he reminds (reminded) me of a pre-Newcastle Isak, and I wouldn’t be massively shocked if, on the right environment, he did something similar.
Think we only come back to table if Rashford goes, otherwise certain he will join Juventus
I wonder if this is a loan or perm? If the later then it presumably means Vlahovic - who is out of contract in 2026 - is closer to exiting.

Likewise, I mean would also be an option for United I guess (although I personally have gone off him, hasn't kicked on like I thought he would when they first signed him).
On a sidenote, it looks like Kolo Muani to Juve is a straight loan for the rest of the season... I feel like Juve seem to get away with / lucky with a bunch of no obligation loan deals and free transfers every year. They're proper cheapskates.
Feels like this is a real miss for United if they could have potentially got him, whether he's a long-term answer or not he'd absolutely be a great low-risk signing for the next few months.

If Juve decide to take Muani means they won’t target Zirkzee. It could be killing 2 birds with 1 stone that Zirkzee will stay and we won’t get new striker in January.
