EXCLUSIVE @le10sport: Manchester United have made direct contact to express their interest in Kolo-Muani. Impossible file in the form of a transfer because the club absolutely does not have the finances, loan request

Yes.

Football loves a good story too, his rematch with Emi Martinez would be emotional stuff.

I guess he'd be a 10 in Amorim's system?

He isn't prolific enough to be the main striker

Yeah but if true, it doesn't bode well for at least some of our attackers. We have Rashford, Garnacho, Amad, Mount, Bruno all competing for those two spots. Why are we chasing another rotation option?

Decent player, good work horse, absolutely no place for him in our squad. This is surely complete rubbish

Yep, I think its more his agent trying to get a move for him. PSG paid alot of money and probably want some of it back. United in the past has been the team to sell them to and make the money.

His agent probably didn't get the memo, this is a different United now.

He is a below average player in my opinion, he got hype from the WC which he didn't even perform well in.

85 mil.

there's overpaying and there's what PSG did.

but if it's only a loan with us looking to sell Zirkzee, why not?

I see him as similar to Alexander Isak at Sociedad and I reckon if he moved to the right club soon, he could still have an Isak-like trajectory. I think they are actually quite similar players. He may of course never kick on, but I don’t think it should be ruled out at this stage.

Haven’t seen him in a year or so but he’s always looked a very useful player to me. Not top tier, but the sort that would contribute a lot as one of our attacking options and who would be a good get if we could do a 6 month loan at a time we’re struggling for goals.

Bang average player who famously bottled the biggest chance of his career.

What are we waiting for?

Isak is doing okay at a club failing to make the Conference League.

The type of 'trajectory' to avoid.

On loan? Is he really struggling in Ligue 1 or is there some kind of underlying story, perhaps with the manager or system?

Have never understood why anyone thought Muani was worth anything near the €95m PSG paid for him.

However, getting him in on loan is a very low-risk idea. I don't particularly get it as we already have an abundance of quantity (if not quality) in attack, but if the club wanna give it a try then why not.

All for it.

Rotates with Amad
Mainoo other AMC
Rashford up top

Bruno and Ugarte the new Scholes and Keane (kinda!)

He is mostly benched this season and hasn't delivered performances that would justify his price tag. Seems to be another victim of Frankfurt's striker magic (every striker there looks like a world beater, exact opposite to the striker graveyard Chelsea)

I will be honest that I've only seen him play about 10 or so times but I think he'd actually quite suit the Premier League.

We also don't exactly have strikers tearing up trees so if they think he'd help us challenge for top 4 on a 6 month loan then I'm all for it.

In an ideal world Zirkzee and Hojlund really kick on but I wouldn't be against having another body up there.

Are you serious? Isak is one of the best 9s in the world - not Halaand, Lewandowski level but just under their them. He is a striker that could be a monster in the right team and I have feared to see him in Arsenals shirt for a while now...

You either dont look at football matches other then Uniteds - he finished second last year after Haaland in the PL´s the top scorer league.

Literally every time I’ve watched him, he’s been really wasteful.

The caveat here is that it was like 3 games of international football.

They didn't just pay 85 mil for Kolo Muani, they also paid 65 mil for Goncalo Ramos and reportedly had a fee agreed for Rasmus Hojlund that summer.

I think the manager/system is definitely a part of it. They paid big money for both Kolo Muani and Ramos and Luis Enrique is currently picking Kang-in Lee or Marco Asensio as the false 9 instead of picking either of the big money signings. I think this is a case of Luis Enrique is very specific/doctrinaire about what type of profile he likes as his #9 in the same way that Luis Enrique was refusing to pick Manuel Ugarte because he is very specific about what kind of profile he likes as his #6.

Omar Marmoush is definitely going to be the next to get a big move :)

To be fair, Haller did well at Ajax, and the issues at Dortmund are just unfortunate and not really his fault. And West Ham also doesn't count. They keep buying these exotic strikers - Haller, Scamacca, Fullkrug - and always end up back with Antonio. In the way that they always keep trying to sign these exotic managers - Bilic, Pellegrini, Lopetegui - but always end up back with Moyes. It's really quite romantic if you think about it.

I don't think that Zirkzee really fits into Amorim's system. If that's the case then we should sell him in January when his stock price is still high. That would leave a vacancy, a role Muani on loan could fill in the short term. Meanwhile the money could be reinvested in a LWB.

Zirkzee literally fits into Amorim's template better than all our current attackers with the exception of Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hoiljund.

You're entitled to your opinion of course. I think that its not the case. He doesn't score enough goals to be the main striker and he lacks the pace to play as no 10

If it’s on loan then I don’t see what we have to lose. We get another option for the rest of the season with no obligation past that, and if he happens to be good then we can try to get him in.

I don’t see a downside to this.

Agree with this. No idea where Zirkzee supposedly fits in this system Amorim will be implementing. I don’t have much faith that Zirkzee will be here in 12 months, but will gladly be proven wrong if he’s improves.

He's the sort of player Utd should be staying away from. He's just not that good.
