Ramires to Chelsea for £20M

Ah come off it, he doesnt need to and hasnt needed to bulk up because he's a tiny tank. The physicality of the premier league is one thing which was never going to prove troublesome for him. I would argue that, given he has the ability to get himself into good goalscoring positions with a run or a dribble, he really needs to improve his finishing. Could have had a couple against Scotland for example

He is Brazilian his shooting will improve, oh wait...

What a goal today. Reminds me of Lars Ricken's strike in 97' final against Juve for some reason although I know it was certainly from closer range and not really that similar technique.

He is one of their more consistent players over the season and he puts in a good shift every time he steps out onto the field.

One of the best finishes I've ever seen considering the occasion, the circumstances and the relative lack of chances.

He's the player we all hoped Anderson would be; bursting runs from midfield, good at taking opposition players on, gets his fair share of goals, strong on the ball. He's not world class by any means but he's one of Chelsea's best players

His engine is sublime. Reminiscent of Essien's at times.

What's intriguing abouth him, is that I would find it difficult to tell which position should he slot in for good. He seems to have a bit of everything, yet maybe not enough to become world-class in one particular position. For the time being, obviusly.

Has been one of Chelsea's better players this season.

He runs a lot but is not a very intelligent player for a CM. The goal was Bergkamp-esque but is absolutely atypical of him.

He may as well retire he won't top that!

Unbelievable under the circumstances, that goal will be shown over and over again for years to come.

That fantastic lob is by far the best thing he's done since joining Chelsea.I don't rate the player but that goal was sublime

I could have understood this post 12 months ago. Not now though. He's had a good season.

the only instance they would look similar is in front of two fairgound mirrors. By weight we certainly got a better deal ....

His fantastic finish against Barca has definitely skewed perceptions of his general finishing ability. I've seen him miss many a presentable opportunity. That's not to denigrate his performance levels, which have been very good indeed.

He was shit in the first leg, struggled to track back & support his full back. Didn't see the second game but caught the goal, nice finish but generally he struggles against better full backs.

He's basically Chelsea's version of Fletcher.

Does the tracking and harassing of opposing players, knows how to find space to make himself available for a pass and knows his limits and plays the simple option most of the time unless he's confident he can pull it off. Will never be the best in his position, but will very often give you an above average performance which can't be said of most players.

A lot will agree with you I'm sure, but for me that is classic red tinted specs syndrome. We can slag Ramires off but he has done as much this season as Anderson has shown us over the last 5 years. Realistically, Ramires and Lucas have both been able to establish themselves as first team players for Chelsea and Liverpool respectively, whilst Anderson has been unable to do so in a midfield which has been crying out for improvement.

For the money we paid for Anderson no, we didn't get the better deal. Maybe if he comes good next season that opinion will change, but we have been saying the same thing for years.

Same applies with comparisons like park vs kuyt, jones vs Luiz and a few others. Take off the specs boys.

When i mentioned weight i was literally speaking...the same when i mentioned the mirrors. And i certainly didnt do it to be kind with anderson....

I thought he was shit, but this season he has changed my opinion, a little. Decent player. Some finish though.

I think you missed his point to be fair.

Thought he was pretty spectacular last night. Every club could do with a couple of Ramires'.
