That's the role of the interim manager : to stabilize the ship and migrate through the season with the best possible results. He couldn't do that. No one asked him to turn us to prime Barca but the job he did was truly an awful one from every single aspect.

He didn't really help himself or his cause. Even if we forget the result, the football displayed on the pitch is awful, and he looks so uninterested on the touchline it's ridiculous.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, go watch Ralf's first game in charge against Palace, specifically the first half where the players proved they could press and function as a unit, albeit only for a third of a 90 minute gam.
 
Maybe we should have just brought in him as strictly a counselor and kept Carrick as the interim?

You're missing an important point in your fancy analogy. The doctor/surgeon is unqualified for the job he has been asked to do. A qualified one would've been able to save you.

There is. Actually, are would be the better word. Start with every player out there today aside from De Gea and Ronaldo.

But yes, Rangnick is a very poor coach. He needs to be a much better consultant, that much is clear.

He went on vacation during the international break. We have a huge amount of players who don't play international football, and we had a massive break instead of actually doing some sort of effective team training.

Who hasn't been consistently shit and uninterested this season? Even Ronaldo and de Gea have had spells of being poor and ineffective.
 
We’ve been getting worse since Ralf took over, to the point where we’ve never played as badly, yet somehow he has nothing to do with that and he’s saving the club. Brilliant
 
Its funny seeing people turning on Rangnick. He has already stated we need a complete new team. This team needs to be purged. If people think coaching is the issue then they are delusional. These players have mentality issue and that cant be solved. Take few players from this team and build a new one
 
I think Ralf has masterminded this perfectly. He has let United players and the board expose themselves by actively not doing anything. At this point, they are 95% exposed. Ralf just needs to lose the final game 5-0 to make them 100% exposed. Then his masterful job is done and can move on to exposing Austria, their squad, their sports ministry and their politicians. Can’t wait for that!

The board should put Ralf on leave or even better he resigns directly.
Put a record on the board members who supported sacking ole. Ole should leave at the end of the season of course.

Why are we paying him then? It doesn't take a genius to come in and just say "these players aren't good enough". It does take a half decent manager to make the most of what he has. Lets not pretend that this squad is as bad as they are playing. We are the easiest team to play against in the league and make teams with a hint of structure look like City or peak Barcelona. We make relegation teams look like above average teams as well. How many teams have we played against that had one of their best performances/results of the season come against us?

Rangnick in this fancy analogy is a perfectly competent surgeon. But I’ve been shot in a major area that’s been well hidden until I get to the hospital.

Who should he play? He can play few U23’s but seeing how people have started slagging off Elanga, it may not be a good idea. This season is dead. Rangnick hasn’t done a great job but i do believe that no manager in the world could do anything with this lot. Maybe Conte could have got few more result but the underlying problem of attitude and professionalism would have remained unless we completely nuke this squad

Hes the worst manager to have ever taken charge of a Manchester United premier team and that's saying some thing. It's spectacular how much he's failed to do pretty much anything.

Guy was hired as an interim manager. He hasn't been a relevant manager for the past decade.
 
I like his honesty, but he has written off the season as well. They players have downed the tools since Atletico and he hasn't even bothered he's happy throwing them under the bus.

A proper shit circus, goods news is there's only one game left.

Hopefully we see a good clearance in the summer.
 
Ole May well have got us 4th. Carrick probably wouldn’t have done any worse than this. the problem is we’d likely have one of them as manager next season if that’s what happened.

Obviously Rangnick was the wrong managerial choice but I think that ultimately his tenure will be more about weeding out the structural deficiencies. The season is a write off but the hope is that we’ll be a better team in the long term.
 
He has been poor in the psychological part and building morale, it's easy to wash your hands of it and slam the players and demand new ones, no doubt we've got a bad collection and ill-fitting players but it's also a managers job to get the players onside working for you.

Perhaps his kind of interim and loose assessment role was always going to make it difficult but it seems a lot more could've been done to hold on to 4th. I'm all for a reset and a damning report but I'm not sure how useful it will be for someone like Ten Hag whom I'd put up there with other leading managers that have more skills and are incredibly demanding infectious leaders. I feared Ralf would rub the group the wrong way and be abrasive and it's proven so. Some of these players will need to go but some will respond much better.

Players like Pogba have played under Conte yet United has been a club without strong guidance and so many aloof players. The club is a large reflection of the squads.

It’s impossible to say that.

Although I’d give ole the benefit of the doubt as he achieved 2nd and 3rd in consecutive years. Had pretty bad spells in both seasons but managed to dig them out with very respectable finishes. Also we always had the knack at coming back after going behind. Now under Ralf….did anyone think there was any hope at all once Brighton went 2 up?

Albeit this season the bad spell was considerably worse under ole I still don’t think we would not be as bad as we are right now if ole had remained at the helm.

This is not me saying he should be still manager, I’m simply comparing him to Ralf and the games he has been in charge of

I would get this if it wasn't nearly a completely different side that what ole eventually got sacked under.

Its funny that we actually played our best when ole played the inherited Jose's squad than his own squad last year and this.
 
He’s been fairly awful. As an example, AWB had a pretty good game against Liverpool, including having to switch to left back because Dalot was so bad. Since then, he hasn’t played a single minute whilst Dalot and Telles have been shocking. I don’t think AWB is good enough but he’s way way better than either of those two players.

The problem with having had RR in place is that he’s improved no one and most of players have gone backwards. We have no real idea what players to focus on recruiting in the summer as it isn’t clear which players aren’t up to it and which have simply struggled under a poor interim manager.

Hopefully, ETG can sort this mess out over the summer.
 
Rangnick, his coaching staff and the players should all be arrested for deception. Rangnick for one thing clearly has no man management or motivational skills, and his coaching skills have been invisible. And now he goes upstairs AND manages an international side. Clearly deceived everyone.
