Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

I like it. I'm curious to see what he can do from a technical standpoint.

Edit: We are getting ten Hag or a similar manager.

Manager for the rest of the season and director after that!?

I swear Talk Sport just said about 30’ ago this deal was not happening due to Lokimotiv Moscow not wanting to let him leave.

I'm so happy about this!!

But I don't understand why people think this should lead us more to appointing ten Hag in the summer. Pochettino and Rangnicks playstyles are more similar than ten Hags and Rangnicks just to be said

Beautiful. A proven football man that will remain at the club in a senior role. Ten Hag looks like our man.

Why does Rangnick make Ten Haag more likely?

Also, as someone who knows nothing about him, is it just Leipzig he's really excelled at?

Bit different at least! Hopefully ETH follows in the summer!

Does he have his own staff/coaches?

I'd like to see Carrick stay on, maybe as assistant to the interim manager
Since he's an interim I wouldn't be surprised if he keeps Carrick and McKenna on. I guess Phelan will now depart. Great learning opportunity for the other two though, especially if they want to become managers down the line.

Great news. Hopefully this is Murtough starting to make a difference in our approach to things. Woody would not have done something so positive and forward thinking.

Can someone detail what type of manager he is? What kinds of players and systems he likes?

So is this guy any good? Hasn't managed any top side from what I can see?

Moving away from our antiquated ways and moving into modern football.

The two year consulting part excites me more to be honest!

I’d be lying if I said I knew more than his name, vaguely. However reading a couple of bits on the Atheltic about him and also the positive response on here… I’ve got to say I’ve got a wee chubby!

Yeah I'd be expecting the same. Gives Uncle Ralf 6 months to assess them as well.

He did a decent job at Schalke, got them to the CL semifinals where we beat them.

When he was interim at Schalke, they destroyed holders Inter in the CL quarters.

(and then we wiped the floor with them in the semis but I won't hold it against him)

Wow, that's a surprise.
You could've done way worse, he's pretty much the founder and spiritual leader of the new school of german coaching.

So we couldn’t get Poch out now and we are waiting, or, all in for 10 hags?

Wow we're finally made the right choice - surprised and absolutely chuffed with this.
