Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

I think it’s something to do with extremely gifted players not being able to fathom that everything doesn’t come as naturally to other players as it did to them.

Evra for example. Sure, he had a rocky start to his time here, but he had everything in his locker to become a monster of a player. All it took was time to put it together really. You could easily see Evra developing into a quality player wherever he ended up. Contrast that to someone like AWB for example, who you would say probably needs a quality coach and proper instructions to help him bring it all together if it ever is to happen.
Not just that, but I think the self confidence and ego's they pretty much have to have to reach that level, they put probably 90% of all success if not more down to just their own quality and their attitudes. They lose 1 game and equate it to a bad day with a bad mentality, and then when they see others losing more often it means to them that it's a bad mentality or lower quality players. They almost can't admit or realize just how much influence a coach actually has, because it's not something that is always very clear to see.

In other words they just lack the experience how it is in a dysfunctional team.

Rangnick could not have wished for a better schedule to start with. Our next 13 league games are all quite winnable, and since we have already claimed first spot in the CL and are out of the League Cup, there will be a few breathers in between.

Really hope he can get us going on a strong run, so we can move up the table and build confidence for the CL knock-out stages. Would love if it we could make a deep run - haven't made it past the QF's since 2011.

I really love the guy's passion for United but he's thick as shit and Henry's disdain for him was visible throughout their time in the studio.

Rangnick's philosophy is more Manchester United than whatever the feck our last few coaches have been trying to do.

I know right.

The way I see it the 2 requirements at United are to play attacking football and play youngsters.

The high line and pressing and all that will be key to attacking football.

Remains to be seen about the youth but he did sign bunch of youngsters at his previous clubs. So hopefully that will come too.

Making Ronnie do
Things he never knew he could.
He's sehr gut, he's sehr gut, he's sehr gut...

Let’s hope he does well. If he does, surely he must be in contention for the job full time.

Er war Superstar
Er war populär
Er war so exaltiert
Because er hatte Flair
Er war ein Virtuose
War 'n Rockidol
Und alles rief
„Come and rock me Rangnick“

The top German clubs have all been getting excellent value for money for years and competing against clubs spending many times more. We on the other hand have been getting very little ROI. This is a solid solid appointment if they let him do his work without restrictions. Hopefully a major Coaching and recruitment win all in one.

I wonder if he fully comprehends the magnitude of this club.omething just seems odd when he talks about our history. Can't put my finger on it.

Think you're onto something. Let's see:
- First he calls Ferguson "Sir Alec".
- Then he recounted how he would go to games every weekend during his student time in Sussex, taking trains to Highbury, White Hart Lane - only never to Old Trafford because it was too far a trip? Right after he said he'd been going to Goodison Park? So the "too far a trip" part was obviously a lie.
- then he ends up saying he 'took a look at the Google' to see what great players have played at Man United. That's just poor, and not because of the "the".

Something is off. He might have been anti-United.

You are really on a mission against him, aren't you?

Somehow I don't fully disagree, I also think he really doesn't care much about any clubs history, but simply knows he needs the fans on his side.

Nah this time I'm really only joking

What kind of crazy person do you think I am?
I just think you are very entertaining on here most of the time. Doesn't matter if you are wrong or right in my opinion, but I always have fun arguing against your madness

Christ, Rangnick isn't some Messiah. A lot of you guys here will either be disappointed very quickly or suicidal or jumping off to the next grass is greener/hipster option.

I agree with you. Nothing about him screams more credentials or knowledge than what LvG, Jose and even Moyes had before joining United. Yes, he has great advantages over Ole, almost anyone has, but our issues to me always seemed deeper. Beyond the manager.

We respond well to shocks and then mediocrity.

I want this guy to change all of it, but I will celebrate once I see the trophy. Any trophy really. Not picky at this point.

Erm he didn't actually say that. He mentioned Charlton and Best, spoke about Munich, and then commented that he'd looked up on Google that the club could have produced 4/5 of the top teams with its players over the past 50-60 years.

Quite different.

Yeah, here I was thinking the bit about the "the" google which I added did give away that I was joking (you've got to look at the details @stefan92 ). What do I need to do? Use white text? Yikes.

I love your constrictive criticism of my post. Ok, clearly Rangnick is a more experienced football person overall than Moyes. The expectations, pressure, dealing with superstars etc... It looks that it is going to be a bit new for this guy. He has had success with some build up teams in Germany, but this is different. Moyes has found that out. I mean even LvG and Jose couldn't do anything special. As I said, I hope this guy does great things for us as a manager and whatever he becomes after his interim manager role. It seems club basically promised him more if he does well. I hope he does well.
