My impressions of VdB is that he's probably more suited to playing as an 8 rather than as a 6. I guess he will have opportunities to prove himself this season though. Regardless of what happens with Pogba there's not much excuse to feck up transitioning him out of the squad by next season.

Not sure anyone's particularly arsed if he leaves anymore, I know I'm not. I actually suspect the van de Beek signing was made in anticipation to ease a potential departure. He's managed to lose his place in the squad and hasn't done anywhere near enough to regain it. I hope we reinvest any money we get from him wisely.

You really need to educate yourself more on how transfers work. If Pogba was putting in Eden Hazard performances(Chelsea levels) then even with a year left on his deal you could get a good fee but over the course of his career he`s been slightly above average at best for an 89m player(his world cup performances with France 2 years ago count for very little if anything cause of his Utd career), been getting a couple of niggling injuries of late and on 290k a week. That on top of this being a COVID market means we`re even lucky Juve is showing an interest because Madrid/Barca wouldn`t touch him with a bargepole. If we overplay our hand we risk letting him go for free which is bad business best we can do is either get a player from Juve or a fee of 50-60m
Likewise. If he's gone in January then I'd hope it will be agreed ASAP, so we can spend the rest of the time lining up a top quality replacement. Don't think Pogba's a bad guy, but I'd struggle to find a player in world football that I think would be worth this much of a circus.

Well, Jose clearly does, as you don’t call someone you’re not close with a virus (actually, that insult is a step too far even with close friends, showing how much Jose detested him) in front of many people. We should have actually done it in reverse in the summer just gone with any bit of forward thinking. We could have got Grealish before he signed the bumper new deal and then Pogba would already be rotting on the bench now anyway.
People keep saying “After one great game he (Raiola) says this” actually, it’s one ok second half with a great goal, after a terrible first half, where if it wasn’t for his name and price tag he’d be the one getting subbed instead of DvB.

And view our squad as Bruno and DvB as our only two ball playing CM’s, with Fred, Matic, and McTomminay as our workhorses. Then integrate and find a system that gets the best out of Bruno and DvB playing together with one CDM.

I think Pogba enables it. If it was just the media then we can say they are morons, but Raiola (his mouthpiece) is constantly talking shit. All Pogba needs to do to make us all stop is just say something. He never does, so as far as I am concerned, he is telling his agent what to say. He thinks him keeping quiet makes him look innocent but it actually makes him look like pathetic
It's kind of a shame that Raiola et al feel the need to do the drip-feed media stir-fest thing this time around -- at this point, does he even need to try to engineer an exit in this way? Seems like all parties would be best served by an amicable exit, so you'd hope United and Raiola could just agree on the fee needed to do a deal and then get on with it.
If I was one of his teammates in that dressing room, I'd be questioning his commitment after this. Hopefully he gets called out for it.

He gave AC Milan a ton of headaches a few years back when Donnarumma had to have his contract extended. AC Milan finally gave in and offered whatever Raiola asked for, but that was after Raiola was threatening AC Milan that his client will leave them.
I might be wrong but I don't think well run clubs like Liverpool/City/Bayern actually bother with any of his clients.

Raiola is trying to cash in high - as we should be doing. He’s just picked up some form - that goal reminded people he’s a potential world class midfielder. Sell! We’ve seen how good the team ticks without him. Trying to shoe horn him in has caused us a lot of grief.

That's what I don't get. The majority of United fans want him gone. It has been shown that he is not really needed thanks to Bruno. If this is a contract ploy then I think Woodward will happily call his bluff because Pogba has shown feck all. All Woodward has to do is point to Bruno and tell Pogba to feck off

I really don't know if people are that desperate to get rid of Pogba that they'll accept almost half of what we paid for him or if he really is only with half of what we paid.
I admire the optimism of those who think United could get Grealish for £50m. It’s the same as Zaha at Palace; he’s worth far more to them than any of his potential suitors. You’ll have to seriously overpay to get him.

All are culpable to an extent, the combination of Raiola being the biggest SOB in football and Pogba being a high profile and highly marketable player; thus an easy target for media criticism is all just a recipe for disaster. Even our inconsistency as a club as a whole is a contributing factor, with us only seemingly having a clear direction in the last year or so.
I will also say that we'd be idiots to go in for Haaland at this point out of self respect, he's a big personality in his own right and adding Raiola in to the equation would see us making the same mistakes all over again.

We should stop doing any deals with Raiola entirely even if that means missing out on potential talents like Haaland. I wonder if it's legal to put into existing players' contracts that they can't use Raiola / his associates / agency in any advisory capacity.
