Not sure if Romano has added his nonsense into it. But this is first time I am reading that Ole said that. And the less said about the way Raiola talks about our manager, the better. Pogba that and Pogba this.
If only our club would make Pogba apologize and distance himself from Raiola's words.
Thank you for posting that. That's extremely interesting. Much more interesting than the Pogba stuff, if it's real. Because if it's real, then that's almost certainly a very calculated move from Raiola; specifically, calculating that Ole won't at the very least lead the club on a clearly visible upward trajectory.
Raiola has two truly super high-profile clients left, Pobga and Haaland. And one of them is almost certainly about to pretty much bust.
And Ole is in a position to pry the other out from under Raiola's influence. Ole is one of the only - if not one of two (Haaland's dad) - people who could theoretically do it.
Ole can sell Haaland on how coming to Manchester United is not about money: it's actually about the opposite.
You come here you will earn a competitive wage, but you will be fighting against the mercenaries. You will be fighting for the underprivileged. The people who pay your wage aren't the Woodwards of the world or the sort of people who spend tens of thousands for a photo-op with you, or say they're a doctor or lawyer who supports your club and ask for the like. Your employers are the 'middle-to-lower-class' people who work hard every week and spend some of that money on the weekends to see their heroes perform. You join this club only if there's that secret, utterly gleeful part of you that wants to stick it to the money-grubbers, the attention-seekers, the influence-peddlers. To rub their faces in the losses on the pitch and your treatment of their 'lessers' as their equals. And when the Woodward's of the world are desperate to show how they 'pay the best salaries and swing the biggest dicks' every single fiber of your being would relish being able to say 'no I don't want more money you stupid feck. Only cowards and secret losers who are subject to a desire to feel better about themselves care about that.'
You literally DREAM of holding press conferences like that (even if you wouldn't say it as bluntly). And you wake up every single morning loving that feeling. That feeling of arrogance combined with courage is what drives you every day. And you love that you're at a club with people who secretly all share that feeling.
When you feel that feeling, you come talk to me. You don't, then don't even bother.
Ole is in a position to say all of that to Haaland. Especially if Ole keeps leading the club on a very clearly upward trajectory.
And ESPECIALLY if Raiola is aware that Ole has tried the above tack on Haaland already. If Ole chucks Pogba out, and the club keeps on moving forward, then Haaland's going to be '
Dude, Ole's looking like he was right.'
So again: this Raiola quote in the tweet that you posted very interesting, again, if it's true. Because it's an over-reach, and VERY SPECIFICALLY one that happens in situations like this. Tres, '
You've taken this much from me, but don't take any more,' indicating weakness.
It's not about Ole saying that as much as it's about Raiola mentioning it.
