Has been our player of the season so far.

Our best player by a country mile. That knock will probably turn out to be a triple break, knowing him but hugely encouraging stuff from him.

fecking class. What a player. Love him to bits. Hopefully his ankle isn't buggered.

Shame for him had a great start to the season but I think he will probably have another spell on the sidelines if he has done ankle damage there.

Good match for him, my motm. Hope his injury is nothing serious.. Dread to think of what our defence will become if another one gets add to the injury list.

Brilliant performance, RVP worthy goal, with his left boot and all.

Imagine the current Rafael with more experience and maturity

IMO He's greatly matured now. He has been dominating his right flank for the last two-three matches now. Excellent player.

Pick that out! What a goal. Loved how it came just after Gerrard was having a go at him too.

Really good today, worth noting he played brilliant there in the cup tie last season as well.

Please Rafael return against Spurs.

Player of the season for now till now.

Great goal from him but I don't think he defended particularly well. Was caught out of position a few times.

But then again...that goal. Briliant.

Agree, he's our man of the season so far, with RvP probably coming in second.
Not only is he a great threat going forward, well actualy he's a beast to be specific, but now I've also grown to trust him in defense as well, if he keeps this going he'll be a hell of a player in no time, hopefuly that ankle twist was nothing more than a scare, it didn't look "that" bad.

He played with the kind of drive and tenacity you need in a game like that, scored a great goal at a vital time and won a couple of important headers as well.

Wonderful performance. Hope he isn't injured!

Performances like that, along with his young age, show why he will be our right back for the next decade.

His performance today was probably one of his best for us. Pinned back, so had to show his defensive ability which so often is (harshly) questioned.

Was excellent. And then, on one of the few occasions he could get forward, he scored THAT goal.

great goal. a very good performance all around. just hope he is not badly hurt. that's the last thing we needed now.

We better enjoy him before he becomes 28-30 and fat and shit like all decent Brazilians;)

Thought he played really well. Showed real determination when others didn't. Defensively he played well, he's getting really good now at getting tight but striking the a right balance so he doesn't give away cheap fouls. With his speed and strength he makes it really tough for players to turn him. Took up some great positions in our box too. Oh and great goal as well.

Absolute warrior. he is the only player who plays with a fire and determination you need when the going gets tough.

Today yet again showed we have a real lack of fighters in the team, its quite worrying to be honest.

Raf was awesome today, and that goal was really something special, he made it by driving into the box and the finish was oh so sweet.

If he comes over his injury problems and properly nails down the role as his own I can see him one day as a future captain. Got all the attributes needed and really one of the few players we have that always shows real fire/desire to win.

If only his brother had the same determination as him, more talent yes probably but there is that attitude Raf has that has made Fergie pick him over Fabio since day one.

Yeah maybe though in fairness I don't think Fabio lacks passion or anything even if he has less visibly than Rafael, he's just had worse luck with injuries. Really hope both of them make it big here.

I don't have any fears about him in that position any more. There will obviously be more moments where he shows his inexperience, but the development in his game has been quite rapid. He was destined to become an all action full back who defends as well as he attacks.

I pray he's escaped injury again. We need our top performers on the field where they belong.

I don't think so, I personaly always saw Rafael as the slightly better of the two.
However I'd be glad if you named a couple of reasons as to why you think Fabio has more talent.

Tbf by all accounts Fabio was deemed as being the more talented when they first signed if I remember correctly.

I have watched them since they were 17, Fabio always looked like the stand out player in his younger years especially offensively some of his play were simply ridiculous for a player of his position. But that part of his play has never really showed during his time at United sadly enough. But back in the day it felt a bit like United just signed Rafael hoping he would become as good as his brother and to keep his brother company. But we all know what happened. It's a bit similar to the Neville brothers I think. Gary has always claimed Phil were the more talented player when they grew up but Gary never gave up and eventually made the right back position his own through hard work much like Rafael is doing right now.

I dont care that hes 'bad' defensively. Let him roam forward as much as he wants - our right hand side is so much more lethal when he helps Valencia out and gives us another option than just crossing to a lone RVP in the box.
