PSG turn down United's Ronaldinho approach

The idea of having Ronny and Veron behind him will give us a hell amount of creativity in the team

I for one hope PSG continue to turn down United's approaches, I really don't want Ronaldinho playing for United. I just have this feeling he is going to mess with the team.

He will be a united player by the mid of June.

Send for the megastore scarf!!! :)

In the same breath he could be that missing link between watching the CL final on TV and watching us lift the trophy in person! Have faith oh...name that I cant make sense of but anyway you get the jist!

um...Giggs is predominantly a left winger and Scholes the link man, its clear as day.

Sometimes Giggs struggles out wide so we move him inside, or he volunatrily cuts inside, but he is our number one left side player. and scholes is the preferred choice as link man, he plays all the big games there. he has been the key to this formation working.

there is no room for ronaldinho in this team other than as part of a squad rotation OR on the left wing.

and i dont think Fergie has finished with Giggs yet after what he has been saying about him and how he has played. we can begin phasing in a new left winger though, i wud prefer duff - because ronnie is not a very good left winger and doesnt like playing there.

these brazillians are always trouble because they do not need to listen to the manager. to them the manager is just their club coach, they are international players first and foremost. as long as their international career looks safe, he isnt gonna give a damn about the club. if he wants to fly back to brazil for some partying he will do.

i find very VERY little evidence to justify bringing him here. nowhere for him to play, his attitude problems. troublesome agents etc. and thats not even started on the settling in/weather problems.

we dont need him, we are banging in goals.

someone professional and passionate about the game like Veron would be great, I love Veron.

its normal isnt it. its the routine. united put in a bid far below the clubs asking price.
they say no.
united come in with an improved bid, but still below the asking price.
they say no again.
at this point someone must contact them again because a compromise figure is then normally made, or an agreement like the one with rio.
psg wanted 20 mil for him ffs.
theyll get about 14 methinks. <img src="graemlins/angel.gif" border="0" alt="[Angel]" />

reason we arent in the final is cos: a) suspensions/injuries and b) bad defending and goalkeeping.

ok maybe he can help out with a. but its not like we were unable to crack their solid defense is it. we were unable to contain them and unable to impose ourselves on the game in midfield. tactically inadequate and defensively naiive.

Having a player like Ronaldinho could perhaps provide that diversity regarding the style of play that it requires to win the CL. Adding him to the squad cannot help but boost the options available to SAF should he feel that an alternative style of play is required.

When I talk about winning the CL i'm not just talking about the Real 1/4final. I'm talking in general. Who is to say that Real wont invest in world class defenders for next season and become a solid unit again (look at us, we seemed to have achieved that feat in one season) Furthermore the Italians are always strong defensively and you know for sure Bayern are going to be back next season with a venegence! My point is that such a player can increase the potential of the team to be able to switch things up against stubborn teams which might not be broken down by the typical United way or methods.

Here we go, typical stereotypical nonsense! Its a surprise that you haven't used the term "its the latin blood you see" favoured by the Ron Atkinsons of this world!

I mean its just typical hyperbole & downright repeatitive jargon, he won't care, party too much blah blah blah, what nonsense. These are problems that can be endemic of any player from any country or footballing background!

And my friend, let me ask you this, What agents aren't troublesome?

Please clarify what you mean by "these Brazilians", citing relevant examples?

Agreed. Reckon we'll get him, but we'll pay more than we should. 15-16m would be my guess. That isn't really a bad price, but the market is down and we should be able to get him for bout 10m.

Djalminha is an example, but this is mere generalisation. Fergie can control anyone. Under Fergie, player's int career is under threat if they dont play properly and behave themselves.

Go 3-5-2 maybe? :D lol

WE just got rid of Yorkie and now we want another party animal?
Thanks but no thanks!

I'd be happy to see Ronaldinho at Man Utd as long as the plan is to have him predominantly coming off the bench for the first season to give him time to adjust to the english game. Given time I think he could be a great buy for us, I just have worries that if he is in our starting line-up in his first year it will disrupt our team. Whereas if he's coming off the bench it will give our boys time to embrace him into the team (think Veron). He will also get a chance to show whether he is in it for the team or whether he'll sulk and go home.

er...are you aware that he has to take regular trips back to Brazil WHENEVER HE FEELS LIKE IT because of "dental problems" which is written into his contract? he has to fly back for specialist treatment....at will....thats anytime he wants! No matter what the boss says, its in his contract.

Not that he will do a dwight yorke and go over there and party, but there is potential for friction already. the attitude is "i am going, i dont care what you say, if you drop me i dont care, i will find another club or sit on your bench and take your money"

Veron having regular flights to Italy was bad enough, but regular trips to Brazil... &gt;_&lt;

I'm a sceptic on this one, but if Fergie decides its ok then I wont disagree. ronaldo is hardly synonymous with his club. he will not go down in barcelona or inter as one of their true greats. he will always be regarded by history as a great Brazillian player.

Players like Becks, Keane, Giggs, Cantona, Schmeichel will all go down in history as great Man Utd players. we'll see how it goes....

ronaldhino overrated.read my new thread on him and what the paris SG FANS THINK!

We dont need him, just think of the palyers we could get for 17mill,kewell and thuram for example.
