Megadrive was not a move up from the Amiga in any sense on the technological level. But we will not get into a discussion here about the heavenly machine.
Sorry I had to resort to such measures.
WeasteDevil said:I don't think that Sony need to cut the price in Europe just yet, especially with the games lineup coming along, and can wait to see what effect this actually has. People that are regular game players and were simply waiting for the likes of GT5:P and MSG4 (PS3 also has GTAIV) I think will not be moved at all by this. Hitting 150 (I'm sure that it will do on Amazon and Play) quid does put this however into the mass market bracket, for casual game players - something a 300 pound price point does not, even to the point that it might even make Nintendo move, even if they do not need to.
Have fun updating your PC every 6 months too.
What the hell are these consoles?
I thought it went from the Amiga to the Sega Mega Drive or something![]()
You've missed the true golden age of gaming.
I'm sure it will come round again![]()
That's not true though is it. Plus the games are half the price.
Unlikely because Video Games are so expensive to make these days.
If you want the best game on release it pretty much is.
And the market is bigger than it has ever been.
There will never be any age of gaming better than the end of the 8bit to the beginning of the 16bit era.
PS3 is boring, 360 is fun.
and yes I have owned both.
And about the cost of add-ons,
i don't need a blu-ray/hd-dvd drive, i dont need wireless connections.
All i pay for is my console, games and live (which i dont mind paying 28 pounds a YEAR, on as it is much better in my experience than PSN).
PS3 can be technically as good as it wants, but it is boring compared to the 360.
Thats my opinion.

Not really. Stop making things up.
I think that he's refering to Crysis here, most boxes out there cannot handle it, it does force you to upgrade, it's the same as all PC software - it always bloatedly targets the very high end, it's a never ending merry go round. When you consider that you could run Amiga OS 3 pretty comfortably on a single SPU on a PS3 and then look at Vista, the comparision is quite startling. And as you well know, sooner or later games will require Vista.
For a start he wasn't just referring to Crysis
To be fair, you'd have to a right numpty to get a PS3.
I might buy one, and use it as a doorstop or something.
It was Crysis which popped into my head when I was mentioning that stuff, I bet 6 months down the line another game with higher specs comes out and you need a monster PC to run it properly.
I'm thinking Geow2, although that may be longer than 6 months untill it is released on PC.
GeoW2 is principally aimed at XB360, it's not pushing any envelopes. On the PC you just up the redering resolution, add more AA, and maybe use higher reoltuion textures.
It's all about graphics though the net talk, what about audio? Because XB360 and 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999% of all PCs are audio gimped in comparison to PS3.
Spoonov... why? You mean "NOT to" I think. Numpties sit and still find DVD the greatest quality ever.
I'm not buying you a decent audio amplifier and speakers, no!![]()
Not many decent games for it. The best one has hours of cut sequences. Personally, I'd have waiting another year, instead bought a 360, which has some fantastic games. You're paying a lot of cash for a games machine that will be gathering dust, unless you've bought it for movies and all. It's not like I can't afford one, but it'd be a waste of cash. I might get a Wii, though. Smash Bros, Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Res Evil etc, all look quality games.
That said, I'm only a casual gamer. Can;t wait to play The Orange Box, though.
Also chuck in Uncharted, Resistance and Warhawk and the upcoming games it has it will have a superb library in about 6-8 months.
I'm still waiting to get surround sound and hook it up to my PS3, MGS4 will be that much better with it I'm sure
Can you spare us a few hundred quid?
You don't even have surround sound. I thought you were rich. You can come round mine, play on my 50"plasma or the 100" HD projector in the living room. Your choice. You bring the beer.
Yeah, not played warhawk mind you, doesn't like my thing
Little Big Planet is looking cool now, at first I thought it looked bollocks, but it could have something ¬_¬
Ratchet & Clank (weird, such good fun)
