Did they actually get it to shut?

Timed for the kit release which is typically a busy day there.Weird timing but well done to those who turned out
Reading the BBC feed they didn’t stop anyone shopping. 40 fans turned out to demonstrate.
I have to agree. It’s a numbers game with protests and it is meant to mobilise sentiments on a mass scale. Well done to the 40 that turned up but I don’t know if it really changed anything other than highlight fan apathy and exhaustion with this long drawn club sale process. These sort of half arsed protests are an embarrassment and actually do more harm than good as the small size of them makes it looks like it's only a tiny minority of people that really want the Glazers out.
Its a bloody good turnout for Tuesday morning.
Well done the lads.

Need to keep going until the leaches are goneGood to see people trying to make a difference. Got picked up by the BBC too which is more important than closing the shop for a while. Shame it was announced last minute, but perhaps they had to keep it quiet so there wasn't a lot of time for security to prepare.
2nd thatWell done to those attending the protest.

Exactly. Those pouring cold water on it are a sad bunch.Agreed. Doesn't matter the numbers. I will always support those that turn out.

If they wanted to be effective, they should have just joined our little moan-in protest on the Caf, am I right?
Too many folk are getting caught up on the "only forty people" part and saying it doesn't make a difference. Narrative is everything nowadays, and when the BBC and Daily Mail were reporting on the protest today they focused on three things.
1) United fans were protesting the Glazer ownership.
2) The protest managed to close the Megastore on the day of the home kit launch.
3) This isn't the first time United fans have protested against the Glazers.
That's it. That's what the average punter will have seen. And it wasn't just the BBC and the Mail reporting those points in their headline. It was also Sky Sports, AS in Spain, bloody ESPN in the USA.
That's not even mentioning how many previous protests against the Glazers have been reported back in their home country by NBC, Fox, Business Insider etc. They don't give a shit about us but you can be certain that they want a good reputation in the country where they have business interests and sports that they care about.
Bang on!
Today was just a few mates getting together at the last minute to get some publicity on kit launch day and it did exactly that
Plus those moaning about lack of numbers seem to have missed the fact that thousands joined together for the last matchday protest just a couple of months ago - that one took a lot more planning to get various fan groups together and was a big success
Aye, that was quite a protest! I was skeptical of the group. I just thought they were a bunch of wannabe militant ultras, but I'm glad I'm wrong. We'll never fully know how much impact they've had but that should never be a reason not to try!
You support FC United, you don't get to talk.Full sale only is the mantra of the people that for 18 years have hardly done anything to remove the Glazers.
Now, laughably they are booing parents buying shirts for their kids and saying "don't care, announce Qatar" on posts about the passing of one of Fergie's mates.
They look like tw**s.

What you mean, the only constant ongoing anti Glazer movement/protest for 18 years?
What you mean, the people who screamed the Glazers were bad but were told to shut up by people who are now booing parents when they buy their children a United shirt?
F**k off.
There are many ways to protest and there are many elements of modern day MUFC to protest. Actively cheerleading for us to become a sportwashing project for a state directly flies in the face of everything people protested about from the mid 90s to now.
So by leaving the club to rot, that's protesting? Those guys at least stuck by this club and never betrayed it. You lot ran away. You don't see Blackburn or Newcastle splinter clubs. What you mean, the only constant ongoing anti Glazer movement/protest for 18 years?

You're trying to damn them if they do, damn them if they don't. Who is your most ideal owner if it isn't Sheikh Jassim? Ratcliffe? Or is he too right wing? Who then?
Nah. You don't see them doing it because the vast majority of their fans would happily back down/sell their soul for a hint of success. United fans historically having a backbone should be a sense of pride. We could have accepted Murdoch in 98 but we actively said no to him.
I have no idea who should be our next owner. As I keep saying, we shouldn't be cheerleading anyone. We shouldn't trust anyone. Anyone who wants to be the legal custodian of the club should be treated with utter disdain until they prove they're legit.
Waving banners for any billionaire (nevermind one with links to a state) is something that makes me feel very uneasy.
