I agree but I think it's a tactical issue, even though de Gea is not really good with his feet, you can tell him to pass the ball quick and start attacks slowly but up until now we didn't have anyone to receive the ball under pressure and play from the back.Goalkeeper to replace de Gea should be #1.
And then a striker who can rotate with Martial just capable of some hold up play. Memphis would be fine. Morata would be grand. Elanga and Ronaldo shouldn't be getting gametime and don't help in any way, and Rashford isn't a striker.
We can rotate Eriksen and Fred as the partner for Casemiro and both partnerships could be a very high level. Even Van de Beek an option. Its a next year problem IMO.
Basically, you can't play quality possession football if you have to tell your goalkeeper to hoof it up, and then if he's holding it, if you have nobody to hoof it to.
Casemiro will provide more steel than ever, the two confident centerbacks can then take the ball to midfield, occasionally Fred can drop in from the no8 at times or Eriksen obviously even though we have seen how risky it can be. This will not work 100% though so we will need a plan b and that's a hoof to the front to the combative no9 and then the right mental set up for the other midfielders to help him to win the second balls.
So after Casemiro IMO it's essential to have a sharp combative no9.
Then we will see if anyone is available in the winter. But should be a progressive midfielder but it will be difficult to get midway to the season. Then RB and GK, but after Dubravka on loan I don't think we will bring anyone for that position unfortunately..
