Can't believe they did this at the funeral

I thought so but it wouldn't have surprised if it was true due to the hypernormal world we live in.

It's said that he has never been back to Greece. They nearly executed his father and he was smuggled out of Greece.
He has a decent war service record too.

Ah, it appears we have some insider knowledge here. You both must work for the BBC. How long is Operation Sycophants going to run for? Don't lie.

That's nothing Absolute radio have just played Everybody Hurts and now onto God Only Knows in their tribute

I didn't know that he was so well-liked by the public.

Would he have still got a letter from the queen when he turned 100?

The human side of it is a woman has lost her partner of three quarters of a century and a family have lost their grandfather etc. Fine and fair.

But I resent being told that the comings and goings of this family should matter to the people of this country. Deaths, marriages, babies, rows; I am sick of these things being held up as matters of huge import when real events and real issues are at stake.

For those who get genuinely emotionally invested in royal news, and those that find any revelry in any death distasteful, it's your right and your lookout to act accordingly. But for me a privileged, outmoded, racist old fellow has passed away and it doesn't affect me one iota, save for the fact that in this country and this world class and perceived prestige dictate what matters far too much for my liking.

"Why don't you go and live in a hostel to save cash?" Asked of a penniless student.

Say what you want about him but he was a real man of the people.

Looking at that list of his comments it’s fair to say he was a top, top talent. I fear for the future of the royal family with the milquetoast likes of William and Harry.

I met the man once at a fundraiser. He was quite charming to begin with, albeit absolutely tired. But he spent a fair amount of time after the camera crews were gone sitting a talking with various people from all walks of life. He and I have a keen fascination with stamp collecting so we had a good laugh over the differences between the 1992 39p Welsh Sheep in Snowdonia and the 1986 17p Lightbulb commemorative ones. I pushed a little too far by bringing up Liz's 60th Birthday one from that same year which earned a gasp from his handlers, but he actually took it humourously!

Anyway, after the lights had dimmed and people were shuffling away he approached me near the chocolate fountain, where I was paper plating up some take home marshmallows, and he said to me "listen hear you little shit, if you ever talk to me like that again I'll fecking end you. I just need to snap my fingers and your head will turn into a cluster of jam textured chunks, you fecking Jock cnut." Then he lit a match off my beard stubble, sparked up a Regal King-size and said "Now, feck off pleb." before turning into his true vampire bat form and flying into the night sky to satiate his hunger for human blood.

Interesting. Do you reckon every newscaster has an emergency black piece of clothing on site in case a royal dies?
Definitely, the BBC and other broadcasters have been practicing for this and updating their plans for years and years.

Oh god, let's just hope it's not as bad as the weeks of fawning over Diana we had to endure.

RIP and all that though, I'm sure you were a laugh Phil.

So people are using the term snowflakes, unironically? That's a bit sad.

See you all on page 37 when two posters are arguing with each other about Islam.

Just seen this on my YouTube recommendations, that's an unfortunate title:

Surprised he lasted this long if I'm honest.

I kinda liked the guy actually, based on a few interviews I've seen him do and whatnot.

Hope the British media aren't too unbearable over the next over the next few weeks though.

Hate the fact that I've got ITK information on this, but here we go anyway.

My dad is a private doctor and he has friends who work with the Royals.
He just told me that one of his friends was put on an assignment over a week ago, and apparently Phillip has been dead for the last week - but they needed time to get all the affairs and such in order before releasing the information to the public.

It sounds believable to me, but obviously I have no proof and I don't really care either way. The man's been a corpse for the last 3/4 years regardless.

Sidenote, saw a conspiracy theory that he died last year and it was due to be announced around this time actually.

I can believe that he died days ago and the Royal Family have been mourning and preparing for the announcement, aftermath and funeral.

It'll probably be the same when the Queen goes.

RIP, but I pretty much have to avoid the media for a whole week now. I don't understand the country's fascination with the royals, morbid or otherwise. The sooner the democratic world is rid of archaic institutions like the monarchy the better.

Good job the Cup final's still a couple of months away. Otherwise it could have been some sort of farcical Weekend At Bernie's situation.
